She also reported property that inspections since meeting, 11 citations have beeni issued for properties with high grass. Mrs. Caldarelli stated Mayor Drewnowski questioned what is going on at 809 22nd Street. Thel Borough that they property is subject to zoning violations for operating a use that is not permitted Manager within responded residential zoning district. He added that thej property owner. has until September 13th to comply. the Public Safety: Mr. Flannery stated that the Committee met this past month and discussed matters involving the police and fire departments. He stated that Engine No.: 21 needed multiple and that iti is out currently being fixed. Mr. Flannery also reported that thef fire department pump now. repairs has surplus bulletproof vests from the police department that the firefighters will wear when toj police related emergencies. It was reported that the Fire Chief willj prepare a fort the vests. Regarding the AFD, it was reported that the old firehose door lock guideline with policy school district is as success and that thel Knox Box program is up and running. program business would the retirement strategy for the police dog that will soon be ten years old. Regarding currently developinga that the APD is doing a good jobi maintaining staffing while keeping overtime down staffing, hei reported officers on vacation or out on leave. He also stated that the Borough: Manager submitted as result a of application to the. Attorney General's office for drug prevention: supplies. Ifyour Regarding the Policel Department, Mr. Flannery reported that the Committee is 4 Mrs. Caldarelli questioned ift there is a plan to get another K9 once our current. K9 retires? Mr. Flannery stated that there is funding put aside to care for our current dog inr retirement and that the Committee is still evaluating the need ifits should be replaced or not. Mrs. Caldarelli commented Mrs. Miller commended both thej police and fire departments for their quick actions on. when her neighbor's house caught on fire. She stated that the fire engine was on scene within August seconds while she was still on thej phone with the 9-1-1 center. She stated that her husband out of thel burning house andt that the firefighters were quick to give aid. Mrs. Caldarelli pulled stated Public Works: Mr. Mikulich stated that there is an Ordinance that prohibits and within the right of ways. He stated that with the construction oft the downtown placing signs on poles underway, he asked thej public toi not] place any signs on the new poles. Hes stated that streetscape now to Mrs. Miller questioned ifCouncil is currently patching potholes in allies? Mr. Mikulich stated that upper alley in the 5001 block needs addressed. He stated that Public Works is out patching these Mrs. Caldarelli stated that if people doj put up temporary signs, they need to take them down. She Parks: Mrs. Miller reported that as of August 13+, $675 in donations havel been made for the Fall Festival's children's activities. She stated that they are looking for local crafters who be interested in having al booth at this year's festival. They are being selective on who has may not want anything too commercialized. Thel Falll Festival is planned for September 29th from booths, 11AM they do Engineer's! Report: Engineer Suehr reported that work on the Outfall Repair project started last Tuesday and should be completed byt the end oft next week. He stated thatt thej project is currently thej pipel has beenj placed and that backfill is underway. The Engineer stated that moving he with the speed ands skill byt the contractor on this project so far. Regarding the Park Improvement's is pleased Project, hei reported that he is waiting on submittals for the newj playset. Mayor Drewnowski reported onl Police Department activity for the month. Hes stated that Officer. Bialik recently completed training regarding specialized: investigations. Thel Mayor stated that Officer AJ Bialik will share his knowledge with his fellow officers. On July 19#, in conjunction with) Felicia Mycyk both thel Police and] Fire Departments conducted a public safety day at the Borough for local youth. Hes stated that the APD gave presentations on1 the K91 Unit, the SWAT Team Building vehicle and passed outj junior officer badges. Thel Mayor stated that officers this monthl havel been active with trying to createl bonds with the children. Officers Korol and. Jones have been with kids in Crestview Village. He also stated that Officer Korol represented the APD playing in On August 7#, Mrs. Verygood and] Melrose. Avenue residents had their annual National event. He thanked everyone who made that event possible and thanked them fori including Night the Out in the event. Hes stated that this is a positive event that needs tol be recognized. On August 9t, Mayor the Ambridge Crime Watch held their National Night Out event in PJ Caull Park. Hes stated that the was a great success. Het thanked the Crime Watch for their hard work and also thanked thej event officers and firefighters whoj participated that night by being dunked in the dunk-tank. police Mrs. Miller stated that Baden.
