Avenue Doraville, Georgia 30340  Meeting Minutes 6:30 p.m.  Arika Birdsong-Miller City Clerk  I.  CALL TO ORDER  Mayor. Joseph Geierman called the meeting to order.  II. ROLL CALL  Council Members Gerald Evans, Andy Yeoman, Rebekah Cohen Morris, Christopher  Henshaw, Maria T. Alexander and Stephe Koontz were present.  II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE IV. APPROVAL OF MEETINGAGENDA  Council Member Koontz made a motion to Approve the meeting agenda as presented. Council Member Evans seconded the motion. The: motion carried by unanimous vote AYES/ YES: Evans, Yeoman, Cohen Morris, Alexander, Henshaw and Koontz  (6-0).  NAYS/NO: ABSTAIN: -  V. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS  1. Proclamation Recognizing Senior Citizens Day: Mayor Geierman thanked the Senior Citizens of 2. Doraville Difference! Maker Honoring the August 2021 Recipient Mr. John Maloney: Tim Snyder used the words honest, moral, and virtuous in his description of Mr. Maloney and listed some oft the major contributions Mr. Maloney has made to the City ofDoraville. Mayor Geierman described Mr. Maloney as someone people int the community can count on and presented him witha a commemoration award as the first person tol be selected as al Doraville Difference Maker.  Doraville for their many contributions.  VI. PUBLIC COMMENT  1. Tim Snyder, 3439. Alison Drive, explained that he thinks the proposed improvements at Autumn Park is great, but thinks that the restroom installation may be an issue. Mr. Snyder 2. Richie Arbor, Northwoods, stated that the Parking Ordinance is al burden and the sidewalk  would like to see a walking path that goes all the way around the park.  on Chestnut needs repairs.    VII. Autumn Park Improvements Task Order to the New Business section oft the agenda. Council Member Koontz seconded the motion. The motion carried by unanimous vote (6-0). Jay Gipson with Gipson Company Monthly Update: Mr. Gipson stated that he will deliver the. Master Plan next month to Mayor and Council. Mr. Gipson also explained that there will bet two hotels on the property with the groundbreaking is scheduled for August 20, 2. Doraville's Art Commission Theme Update: Lance Morsell, Economic Development Specialist, described the themes the Art Commission developed in hopes ofaccepting art Council Member Koontz made ai motion to Approve the proposed. Art Commission themes presented. Council Member Henshaw seconded the motion. UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None X. NEW BUSINESS  1. Autumn Park Improvements Task Order: Mr. Brad Jones, Project Manager, reviewed the plans for Autumn Park with Mayor and Council. Council Member Yeoman stated that the Master Plan isn't finished with priorities and that the active parks should have restrooms installed initially. Council Member Cohen Morris stated that the Kaboom grant expedited  2    this park and suggested having thet trail be 1 kilometer around the entire park. Council Member Alexander thinks that we should get all the work done at once. Council Member Council Member Cohen Morris made ai motion to. Approve the Autumn Park Improvements Task Order. Thei motion was seconded by Council Member Evans. The: motion passed with a  Koontz stated that restrooms are ai necessity in the parks.  vote of5-1 with Council Member Yeoman voting in opposition.
