Session Meeting Minutes ATTENDEES John Popham, Councilman Bruce Harkness, Councilman Sean Moore, Councilman Joely Mixon, City Treasurer Kim Simonds, City Clerk Joey Homans, City Attorney Robin Krockum, Police Chief Eric Pereria, The Northeast Georgian AGENDA ITEMIand Il: INVOCATION AND PLEDGE TO THE FLAG The April 2, 2019 Demorest City Council regular monthly meeting was held in the Demorest Municipal Building located at 125 Ivy Street. Attorney Homans opened with the invocation and pledge to the flag. Int the absence of Mayor Austin, Councilman Harkness called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Councilman Harkness called for a motion to approve the printed agenda. Amotion was made by Councilman Moore and seconded by Councilman Popham to accept the agenda as printed. AGENDA ITEM III: CALL TOORDER AGENDAI ITEM III(A): APPROVAL OF AGENDA ACTION: The agenda was approved as printed (3-0) AGENDA ITEM II(B): APPEARANCE AND PUBLIC COMMENTS Councilman Harkness called for public comments. There were none. AGENDA ITEM III(C): APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes from the March meetings of the Demorest City Council were presented for approval (2 meetings) and Councilman Harkness called for a motion to approve. Such a motion was made by ACTION: The motion to approve the minutes of the March meetings oft the Demorest City Council was Councilman Moore and seconded by Councilman Popham. unanimously approved (3-0) AGENDA ITEMI III(D): FEBRUARY FINANCIALS AGENDA ITEM IV: OLD BUSINESS There was no OLD BUSINESS for discussion. City Treasurer. Joely Mixon presented and discussed February financials with Council. AGENDA ITEM V(A): REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FOR SURPLUSSED POLICE BLAZER Police Chief Robin Krockum distributed a quote for a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe to be purchased in place of the blazerwhich was recently surplussed. It willl be the main vehicle for Officer Clinton Jones. $2200.00 will be offered for the trade-in and $5,012.00 received from the sale of the Blazer willl be applied. The remainder oft the balance will come from police grants. A motion was made by Councilman Moore and ACTION: The motion to approve the purchase oft the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe was unenimouslyopproved AGENDA ITEM VI: CONSIDERATION OF MOTION TO ENTER INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS PROPERTY,PENDING LITIGATION OR PERSONNEL MATTER IN ACCORDANCE WITH OCGA! 50-14-1 seconded by Councilman Popham to approve the purchase oft the vehicle (3-0). There were no matters requiring adjournment into Executive Session. AGENDA ITEM VII: MOTIONT TO ADJOURN With no other business Councilman Popham made a motion to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Councilman Moore.
