ATTENDEES Rebecca Godwin, Chairman Jim Welborn, Vice Chairman Shawn Allen Christy Ryals  Megan Chastain, City Clerk  The September 6, 2023, Downtown Development Authority meeting was held in the Demorest  Municipal Building located at: 125 Ivy Street. AGENDA ITEM: 1: CALLTO ORDER Rebecca called the meeting to order at 4:48 p.m. AGENDA ITEM2: APPROVAL OF AGENDA  A motion to approve the agenda as presented was made by Shawn and was seconded by Jim. Action: The motion to approve the agenda as presented was unanimously approved (4-0).  AGENDA ITEM 3: APPROVAL OF JULY MINUTES  Ar motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Shawn and was seconded by Christy. Action: The motion to approve the minutes as presented was unanimously approved (4-0).  AGENDA ITEM 4: FARMHOUSE COFFEE LEASE  DDA discussed FarmHouse Coffee subleasing a sublease agreement. They did not agree nor think it was legal based off of the contracts. DDA asked Megan to check with the city attorney. A motion was made by Shawn to put this item off to the next meeting after discussed with the city attorney and was Action: The motion to putt this item off to the next meeting after discussed with the city attorney was  seconded by. Jim. unanimously approved (4-0).  AGENDA ITEM 4: NEW DDA MEMBER: SUGGESTION  Rebecca recommended Rebecca Brantley as a new DDA member. A motion was made by Shawn to recommend to council Rebecca Brantley for one oft the DDA member positions and was seconded by Action: The motion to recommend to council Rebecca Brantley for one oft the DDA member positions was  Jim.  unanimously approved (4-0).  1Page    AGENDAI ITEM! 5: DISCUSSION OF UPCOMING HOLIDAY EVENTS  DDA discussed dates for the upcoming holiday events. The Halloween event will be October 31st from 5:001 PM -8:00 PM: and the Christmas Tree Lighting will tentatively be November 30th. Megan is going to check with the chamber and other cities to see when their upcoming events will be. AGENDA ITEM 6: CONSIDERATION OF ENTERING INTO EXECUTIVE! SESSION  There was not an executive session. AGENDAITEM7 7: MOTION TO ADJOURN  Ar motion to adjourn was made by Jim and the motion was seconded by Christy. The motion was  unanimously approved.
