Meeting called to order at 3:37pm Roll call by Mr. Narducci Members present Mrs. Omisore, Mrs. Bernal and Mrs. Lee were present. Also, present Administrator of Elections Mr. Motion made by Mrs. Lee seconded by Mrs. Omisore to accept the minutes oft the meeting held on March 12, 2024. Mr. Narducci and the board discussed the candidate school that was held on May 8, 2024, at the Public Safety Complex. Mrs. Lee provided her feedback that it went well, andi that the presentation was very easy toi follow. The public that The board reviewed the list of polling places tol be used for the September 10, 2024, Primary and the General Election on November 5, 2024. Mr. Narducci explained that he was in contact with about 80% of them and that they have all committed to the use of their facility. There was some discussion on Bomes Theater, Algonquin House, and the use of Colony House as a new polling location. The Board asked Mr. Narducci to also look at Freedom Hall on Pitman Street as Election Officials have mentioned their concerns to the board regarding conditions at this location. The board discussed ways to improve voter outreach such as collaborative efforts with community groups, Council, and The board discussed ways to improve poll worker recruitment and partnering with the Secretary of State in regarding their civics int the classroom initiative. We will also work with community groups, council, and party chairs in this effort. Mr. Narducci provided the board with an update on the: school board election. Mr. Narducci stated that the map passed at the council's last meeting for the first time unanimously and that it will be on the agenda this Thursday for final passage. Candidates must follow titie 17 as the charter is not clear ont the process for the school board to get elected. Mr. Narducci explained that due to the school board map being adopted, by law the city must send postcards to all registered voters explaining the change. We will also use this post card as a get ready to vote announcement. Mr. Narducci will share the postcard with the board once it has been signed off by communications.
