CALLTOORDER Mayor Joseph Geierman called the meeting to order. II. ROLLCALL Mayor Joseph Geierman, Council Members Gerald Evans, Andy Yeoman(via Zoom), Warren Simmons, Christopher Henshaw,and Stephe Koontz were present. Council Member Maria Alexander was absent. III. APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA Council Member Evans made a motion to approve the meeting agenda as presented. Council Member Henshaw seconded the motion. The motion carried by unanimous vote (5-0). NAYS/NO: - ABSTAIN: AYES/S YES: Evans, Yeoman, Henshaw, and Koontz IV. APROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS 1. Proclamation Recognizing Welcoming Week en Georgia during Welcoming Week, September 8-17,2 2023. 2.1 Proclamation Recognizing Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month Mayor Geierman presented the proclamation to Los Vecinos de Georgia during Hispanic/ Latino Heritage Month. He acknowledged the contributions that Hispanic/Latino's the group does within the community. 3.Doraville Difference Maker for September 2023: Difference Maker for the month of September 2023. Mayor Geierman presented the proclamation recognizing Amigos de la Communidad Council Member Warren Simmons recognized Unique Style Cleaners as the Doraville UNFINISHED BUSINESS- City of Doraville 2024 Health Insurance Renewal Summary Delores Waithe, Human Resources Director, presented the updated employee health insurance renewal summary options for 2024. The Mayor and Council provided feedback on the options presented. The consensus was to move forward with finalizing the Resolution for the next Council Meeting. V. NEW BUSINESS 1.1 Discussion of Underpass Lighting Council Member Evans gave an overview of the item. The Council feedback was to have Staff move forward with researching the cost and bringing it back for 2. Park Project Update Crystal Dawson, Director of Parks and Recreation presented an update on proposed projects at the park. Brent Jones addressed the Council regarding the upgrades. The Council discussed and gave guidance regarding upgrades to the proposed park projects. III. Banner Sponsorship Policy Crystal Dawson-Director ofl Parks and Recreation presented the Banner Sponsorship Policy to the Council. The Council discussed and provided feedback regarding the policy. China Agu, Director of Finance presented the 2024 Proposed Budget. There was no public comment. The Council discussed and gave guidance on departmental budgetary items. Adopt a Resolution, at the Regular Council Meeting on September 20, 2023, Appointing City Manager Chris Eldridge reported that two applications were received. One applicant is did not meet the requirements. Mentioned that we need one more applicant and would like to standardize the terms of the appointment. VII. EXECUTIVE SESSION- None VIII.
