City Election, the ordinance amendment will go: into effect November 6, 2019. CHIEF RICKY PRUITT - FIRE DEPARTMENT outside of the automatic aid area in the county. ChiefRicky Pruitt, Fire Department, submitted the fire department statistics for the month ofMarch 2019. The department responded to 89 calls - 44 within the city, 45 outside the city with 15 ofthe calls ChiefPruitt informed the department has been utilizing the inmate work crew to assist in testing fire hoses. Several aged hoses have burst during testing and will need to be replaced. The hoses were purchased from Alpharetta in 200land at the time; the hoses were about fifteen years old. The: new: module will allow the operator to locate hydrants in the city's water system. The computer notebook can detect and register GPS coordinates, address, and established zones of] hydrants. CHIEF JOHN FOSTER - POLICE DEPARTMENT be held at' Truett McConnell University this Saturday. Chiefjohn Foster, Police Department, reminded the Mayor and Council of the Freedom Event that will ChiefFoster has been working with the security detail and will have extra police on duty. Truett McConnell administration will reimburse the city for the extra security. GRANT KEENE - CITY ATTORNEY Grant Keene, City Attorney, did not have new business to report. TOM O'BRYANT- CITY ADMINISTRATOR 1. Donation ofLand along East Underwood St. for Sidewalk a. Joe Kemp and Jerry Freeman plan to subdivide a 4.52 acre tract into seven lots for residential homes. The tract has frontage on Underwood Street. They have donated a 10- b. Mr. O'Bryant has negotiated with the neighboring properties along East Underwood Street for a 10-foot wide strip. Mr. O'Bryant informed crews are working on the exterior ofOak Springs. b. Interior design is being finalized and ready for engineering (MEP). Once this is completed, RCCI will this phase out for bid. Kevin Stanley asked what the timeframe is on the completion. Mr. O'Bryant answered the project could transition from exterior to interior once the plan is approved and put to bid. Mayor Ash asked ifmaterials were in. Mr. O'Bryant answered the steel for the roof should be on its way. . Parking and site work, on the site, is still being developed and evaluated. d. RCCI has received pricing for abatement of the Talon Building and is evaluating cost The county library committee toured the building along with the State Library Director for Planning and Construction. As survey ofthe" Talon property reveals that the southeastern corner oft the building is only 18-inches from the property line. This could limit the accessibility from that side ofthe building to the rear ofthe facility. Mr. O'Bryant suggested contacting Evelyn Baker to acquire additional property for access. Kevin Stanley asked ift the corner of the building could be removed for access, but reconsidered ift there would still be enough access and RCCI continues to work with city departments on space needs and department functionality for the Talon Building. This will help determine the location of each department within the building and how city services are accessed by the public. a. The City has contracted for several years with the Georgia Department ofCorrections to fund a work detail for public works projects and maintenance within the city. b. The agreement is an annual contract with the GA Dept. ofCorrections for 2019-2020. The amount oft the agreement contract for FY 2019-2020 is $39,500. The scope oft the services under the contract remain the same as ini the current and previous years. d. Public comments - Annie Sutton informed there is al hole ini the road at Chick-Fil-A that needs to be repaired. There are several other areas that need patching, but may be a GDOTissue. Bradley Greene has received complaints of the condition ofthe Holcomb building (next tol Nix Hardware). Mr. Greene would like some sort ofaction taken, either brought up to code or removed. Mayor. Ash stated he has also receive comments on the condition oft the building. Mr. Greene asked ift the concrete barriers have been removed from Woodman Park. Mr. O'Bryant stated it has been taken care of and the barriers have been removed. Mr. Greene has contacted Senator Steve Gooch and other state representatives oft the lack of location signs coming in to Cleveland. There are no directional signs to Cleveland outside the Mr. Greene informed he has been approached about public bathrooms. The county proposed bathroom project for Freedom Park has been put on hold due to costs.
