The Carl Junction City Council meti in regular session, on Tuesday December 21, 2018 at' 7:00 PM at City Hall. called the meeting to order with the following present: Rick Flinn, Don Marshall, Richard Zaccardelli, Allen, Mike Burns, Randy Hutcheson and Mark Satterlee. Also present were City Administrator Steve Lawver, City Roger Spencer motioned to approve the agenda as presented. Don Marshall seconded. All in favor. No opposed. LaDonna Robert Patton, 106 Victoria, requested ai revision to the Carl Junction building code, specifically relating to fences. Current code states that aj privacy fence when constructed: requires the wood planking tol be on1 the outside ofthe fence. Mr. Patton's neighbor has a chain link fence and he has dogs. He is wanting to build aj privacy fence but cannot get to the side due to the chain link. Mr. Patton feels that in many cases there is no visual impact on any particular side. Steve Lawver stated that he and the building inspector did! have ai meeting with Mr. Patton with regards to thei fence, andi it was suggested that he apply for variance. Hes stated that Richard Garrett, 1021 Copper Oaks, stated that Marie St., between Fir Rd and Copper Oaks, is deteriorating at ai rapid pace. He stated that what had been previously cracking is now in as state of deterioration, He stated that this road gets a lot of large trucks that stop frequently which is causing problems. On a separate but related traffic issue Mr. Garrett stated that there is al lot oft traffic on Fir Rd., that there are very large trucks and very narrow shoulders. He requested that as budget issues are discussed to please remember Fir Rd. Mayor Mark Powers stated that it would not do any good to start any repairs until the Schuber Mitchell subdivisions are finished. Randy Hutcheson stated that he has encountered: many trucks on Fir Rd and was wondering ift thel EPAI had Mark Mayor Roger Spencer, Powers LaDonna Attorneyl Mike' Talley, and City Clerk Maribeth Matney. QUARTERLY CHAMBER REPORT Lisa Knutzen with the Carl Junction Chamber Of Commerce reported on the last quarterly chamber events. Ms. Knutzen also reported on the upcoming events planned for first half oft the new year. LaDonna Allen stated that when budget meetings were done this past year, that certain items were benchmarked and would have been discussed in November. LaDonna asked ifLisa could get with Steve on an update oni those benchmarks. Lisa thanked everyone for the support oft the chamber. Mayor Powers asked Steve Lawver to explain why there are issues with getting enough electricity for the parades and Center Creek park. Steve Lawver stated that to bring ini more power to Center Creek there would need to be another line brought in from Terrill Lane, the back through the park. He stated that this would be very expensive and that the line would have to cross the creek bed. Steve stated that the poles on Main Street do not have the ability to runj power any stronger than the Christmas Lights. He also stated that there have been problems with the pumps at the Deerfield lift station. He stated that today they had to pull the pumps at Deerfield. Jimmy also mentioned that this was thes second time in ay year that they replaced the pumps duet to clogging from debris. Police Dept. - there was nothing to add. Chief Haase stated that Shop With a Cop was a great suçcess with a total of 220 kids and lots ofvolunteers.
