City of Donalsonville Budget Work Session-April 26, 2024 Council Chambers 5:00 PM Official Minutes  Mayor Ron. Johnson, Jr. called the Budget Work Session to order at 5:001 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Councilmembers present for the meeting included Mayor Ron Johnson, Jr., Mayor Pro Tem Ed Bond, CPI Mitch Blanks, CP Mitzy Moye, CP Travis Brooks and CPI Flossie Smith. CP Lindsay Register was absent. Staff present were City Manager Jeffrey Hatcher, City Clerk Christina Corvers, Police Chief] Kem Pugh, Public Works City Manager Hatcher reviewed the departmental requests for thel FY 24-25 Budget. While reviewing the proposed FY 24-25 Budget requests, discussion was had regarding the current FY23-24 Budget. After some discussion, all were in favor for each department to enact a 5% reduction in their existing budget for the FY 24-25 Budget cycle, calculated based on the current FY23-24 Budget. Additionally, it was decided that City Manager Hatcher would escalate the implementation of the previously sanctioned spending freeze. Discussion was also had regarding Dispatch Services for Public Safety, along with the city-wide camera Next, City Manager Hatcher requested the Mayor and Council consider approvinga Financial Committee to review finances on a monthly basis. After some discussion, CP Moye and CP Blanks volunteered to serve on the Financial Committee along with Mayor Johnson A copy oft the proposed FY 24-25 Budget willl be available by request at City Hall after Friday, May 3, 2024.
