Buford City Commission May 6,2024 The regular monthly meeting was held on May 6, 2024 at Buford City Hall and all Commission members were present. Chairman Beard called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and Mr. Burge led the Pledge of Motion by Mr. Weeks, seconded by Mr. Burge to approve the agenda for thel May 6, Allegiance. 2024 meeting as presented. Mitch Peevy spoke on behalf ofthe applicant. Debra McCormick spoke in opposition of the rezoning request. She stated the proposed industrial use is inconsistent with the City ofBuford land use plan and is not suitable for the residential area. Frank Compton, Dr. Sam, Luke Potts and Judy Chasey all spoke in opposition oft the request and alll had the same concerns of increased noise and truck traffic, decrease inj property values and negative impacts fora residential lakeside area.
