Police Chief. Jamie Newsome gave the invocation, which was followed by the pledge ofallegiance to the United States Flag. AGENDA & MINUTES APPROVED On motion by Commissioner Odom, seconded by Commissioner Foster, all voting "Aye"none voting "No" the Commission approved the current agenda, the City Commission meeting minutes ofJ July 10, 2017, and the Work Session Minutes and Executive Session Minutes of DELEGATE- - COREY SMITH - REQUEST USE OF MAIN STREET PARK FOR FALL REVIVAL ON MONDAY,SEPTEMBER 25TH TOS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8TH Corey Smith appeared before the Commission and requested the use of the Main Street Park for al Fall Revival from Monday, September 25th to Sunday, October gth. A motion was made by Commissioner Odom, seconded by Commissioner Foster, all voting "Aye" none voting "No" the Commission approved Corey Smith using the Main Street Park for a Fall Revival from Monday August 7,2017. September 25th to Sunday, October gth. DELEGATE - BISHOP SEWELL- TURNER STREET PARK Bishop Sewell appeared before the Commission on behalf ofthe Turner Street Recreation Committee and reported on the spinoffo of the Youth Summerfest. It was hosted by the Turner Street Committee, along with a dozen churches. Bishop Sewell stated that the event was fantastic and thanks the City, along with the Police Department for doing a great job of not only supporting their mission but restoring the park. He reported that everyone had a great time at the event and there were noi incidents. DELEGATE- BLAIR ELROD-LEAD POLK: 2017 PROGRAM Polk to the Commission. She thanked them for their continued support Blair Elrod appeared before the Commission and informed them ofthe* "Lead Polk" program. She is a member oft the Class of2017. Elrod praised the program and gave details about Lead PRESENTATION- - AIMEE MADDEN - PRESENTATION OFTHE CITY DIGITAL Aimee Madden, Public Information Officer for the City ofCedartown, presented to the Commission the City's new digital brand logo. She explained the thought behind the design and how it willl be used to market and promote the City of Cedartown. Madden also noted that the BRAND City rolled out a new website design to coincide with the logo reveal. CITY MANAGERS REPORT Our rescheduled Fourth Friday event from June's rainout will be held on Friday, August 25th, with the band "Chaotic" scheduled to perform. The one from July is rescheduled for The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Polk County College and Career Academy is scheduled for Monday, August 28th at 1:00 p.m. All ofyou should have received Wel have submitted an application for the 2018 Community Development Block Grant round requesting $750,000 in funding for continued sewer line replacement. COMMISSIONER REPORTS Commissioner Foster thanked Bishop Sewell and the Turner Street Committee for organizing events that benefit the community and taking pride in thej park. He also thanked the Cedartown Police Department for their assistance on the first day ofs school. Commissioner Foster also reminded those in attendance about the NARCOS presentation that is being held on August 26 at the Cedartown Performing Arts Center. a Commissioner Odom stated that there are, great things coming upi in Cedartown and he also expressed his appreciation for Bishop Sewell. He also stated that he was very pleased with the work of Aimee Madden on the website and branding. The City madea great decision when hiring her. ADJOURN adjourned.
