ACRES TO BE REZONED UPON ANNEXATION City Attorney Pilgrim asked for any comments "for" or "against" the annexation request from Roy Trammell for the annexation ofl his property designated as Polk County Tax Map & Parcel Number 0030E069N and 0030E0690 consisting of3.12 acres to be rezoned upon annexation to C-2 commercial. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER  Commission Chairman Hubbard called the meeting to order. Corey Smith gave the invocation,  which was followed by the pledge of allegiance to the United States Flag.  AGENDA AND MINUTES APPROVED  A motion was made by Commissioner Tuck, seconded by Commissioner Foster, all voting "Aye" none voting "No" the Commission approved the current agenda, the City Commission meeting minutes of January 9, 2017, the Special Call meeting minutes of. January 18, 2017 and the Work Session and Executive Session meeting minutes ofl February 6, 2017. DELEGATE -] FORREST MCCOMBS - BLACK HISTORY FESTIVAL Forrest McCombs appeared before the Commission requesting the use oft the Turner Street Center and Park for the Black History Festival on Saturday, February 18, 2017.1 Mr. McCombs also requested blocking off. Jefferson Street to Line Street for the Festival. A motion was made by Commissioner Foster, seconded by Commissioner Tuck, all voting Aye" none voting "No"    to approve the use oft the Turner Street Park and Center; the request for the closing of. Jefferson Street tol Line Street for the event will be pending the approval ofPolice ChiefNewsome. DELEGATE - MARY HAYES- REQUEST THE USE OF BERT WOOD PARK ON SATURDAY, APRIL 8TH FOR A BENEFIT RIDE - "CRUISING CALEB"  No: show.  PROCLAMATION-NATIONAL ARBOR DAY  Commission Chairman Jordan Hubbard. read aj proclamation proclaiming February 17,2017 as Arbor Day in the City ofCedartown and urged all citizens to support the efforts to protect our  trees and woodlands and to support our city's urban forestry program.  MANAGERS REPORT  Aj pre-construction meeting for the CDBG sewer project was. held on January 31, 2017 with the contractor Site Engineering and City Engineer Ronnie Wood. Mobilization on the project is scheduled this week with construction to begin in the next 3 to 4 weeks and Department of Community Affairs Program Manager. Annaka Woodruff visited One Door Polk last month along with other DCA and ARC: representatives and all were very Our Georgia Initiative for Community Housing team will be in Albany on February 22nd and 23rd for the semi-annual meeting oft the GICH communities. This will be our next to last retreat as we will graduate the program next September. Thanks to Commissioner Hubbard for his leadership in this program and to all our team members for their Carol completed her annual certification training last week. Amy Orebaugh will have training next month and mine is the week of March 21sti in Athens. ANNEXATION OF PROPERTY OWNED BY ROY TRAMMELL DESIGNATED ASTAX MAP AND PARCEL NOS. 0030E069N AND 0030E0690 CONSISTING OF 3.12 ACRES CONTIGUOUS TOTHE Commission Chairman Jordan Hubbard read the Ordinance for the annexation of] property owned by Roy Trammell designated as tax map and parcel nos. 0030E069N and 0030E0690 consisting  TARGET AREA  the FY2017 CDBG Target Area.  CORPORATE LIMITS OF CEDARTOWN  of3.12 acres contiguous to the corporate limits of Cedartown.    COMMISSIONER REPORTS  Commissioner Tuck stated that the Middle School boys won region in basketball. She had to brag on Lee Hayes. The Recreation Department and First Baptist played each other and it was a great experience. Recreation baseball and soccer sign-ups are going on Commissioner Foster thanked Forest McCombs and Harold Gipson and everyone that came out tonight. They are active in the community and great role models. Commissioner Odom commented on how great the artist rendition of] Big Springs is. Chairman Hubbard thanked every referee, coach, umpire and player for all that they do.  now.  ADJOURN adjourned.
