Minutes- May 7, 2024/1 Town ofClermont Town Council Meeting May 7,2024 The Clermont Town Council met on May 7,2024. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: Mayor James Nix, Council Members James Castleberry, Marcia Kesler, Seth Weaver, Amanda Nix and. John Brady. Town Clerk Amy Lomax also attended. APPROVAL OF THE. AGENDA: Marcia Kesler motioned to approve the agenda. James Castleberry seconded, and all Council Members voted in favor. Motion passed. INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Seth Weaver led the invocation, MINUTES-APRIL 2, 2024/ /APRIL 16, 2024: Seth Weaver motioned to accept the. John Brady seconded the motion, and all Council SECOND READING OF ORDINANCE NO 82-2024-01-03 REZONING REQUEST ALEX CHAVEZ-6535 CLEVELAND HWY: The Mayor gave the second reading of Ordinance number 82-2024-01-03: This an ordinance amending the zoning map of the Town of Clermont, Georgia, by rezoning all that tract or parcel of land owned by Alex Chavez and being all those lots or parcels ofl land located in land lots 63, 82, and 83 ofthe 12th land district ofHall County, Georgia and being Hall County tax parcel number 12063 000030, and being more particularly described on a deed or plat which is attached hereto and, which isi incorporated by reference into this ordinance, from Residential DistrictI(R- I)to Agricultural Residential District IV (AR-IV) with conditions; repealing conflicting ordinances; to provide for severability; to provide for an effective date; and for other purposes. Minutes- May 7, 2024/2 SECOND READING OF ORDINANCE NO 82-2024-02-03 ANNEXATION REQUEST TIM AND MARTHA MERRITT- 6698 MOUNTAIN MEADOW The Mayor gave the second reading ofOrdinance no. 82-2024-02-03. This is an Ordinance to annex and bring within the corporate limits of the Town of Clermont, Georgia, all that tract or parcel of land owned by Tim and Martha Merritt, and being in land lot 39 of the 12th land district, Hall County, Georgia and being Hall County tax parcel number 12039 000015A, and being more particularly described by a plat of survey or deed and attached to the annexation ordinance and incorporated herein by reference thereto, and made aj part of this description for this annexation ordinance; to provide for an effective date; and for other purposes. This is an Ordinance amending the zoning map oft the Town of Clermont, Georgia, by rezoning all that tract or parcel of land owned by Tim and Martha Merritt, and being all those lots or parcels of land located in land lot 390 ofthe 12th land district ofhall county, Georgia and being Hall County tax parcel number 12039-000015A, and being more particularly described on a deed or plat which is attached hereto and, which is incorporated by reference into this ordinance, at the time of annexation as Agricultural Residential district (AR-IV) [and currently zoned prior to annexation as. Agricultural Residential District IV (AR-IV)], without conditions; repealing conflicting ordinances; to provide for severability; to provide for an effective date; and for other purposes. Motion PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE 2024-2025 TOWN OF CLERMONT BUDGET: Mayor Nix opened the public hearing on the proposed budget at 7:24 pm. The proposed budget is $667,000.00. The Mayor informed the Council that a small portion of the proposed budget had three years of money collected from the Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) program. Thel LMIG money will be used in the spring of2025 for road work on Oxford Road. He asked for any comments or questions from the Council PROJECTUPDATES: John Brady asked ift the Council knewi ifthe Town owned the sign in the Meadows subdivision or if the property owners in the subdivision owned the sign. The sign needed repair, and before he talked with his neighbors about it and started the repairs, he wanted to see who the sign belonged to.
