Mitzi will attend the l'am both happv and sad to announce the retirement of Assistant Fire Chief Scott. Jackson who will be leaving us effective January 31st. Scott has also served as the organization safety coordinator the last several years and has effectively compiled and submitted our safety grant applications with LGRMS each year. In 2018, his efforts resulted in grants of over $15,000. Biggers Field project update - The new roof on the concession stand, new plumbing fixtures ini the restrooms and interior painting have been completed with LED lighting upgrades, exterior painting, new door installation, metal stair replacement and new restroom partitions are alli in process. Weather has delayed the project al bit but next session of Municipal Clerks training through GMA. they still project being completed by the first of March. Summer Concert Series move to Peek Park Have an open air Art Gallery at the Depot. Rebrand the Fall Festival - November2 Have a Spooky Spooks Halloween Village and activity centers for kids at Bert Wood Park. Christmas parade move to Saturday and have breakfast with Santa and pictures. The Georgia Department of Economic Development Tourism Development team that visited us last October will return on Tuesday, January 29th to give us their report and findings. Iti is his recommendation that the projects be awarded as follows: Division I- Replace the Main Influent Lift Station with Additive. Alternate Bid #2 for repairing the existing two rotary screens be awarded to Haren Construction Company, for a 270 calendar day Division II- Replace the Cave Springs Lift Station be awarded to Sol Construction for a 270 A motion was made by Commissioner Carter, seconded by Commissioner Payton, all voting "Aye" none voting "No" the Commission approved awarding Division p project to Haren Construction Company and Division II project to Sol Construction for at total amount of 2027 CONSIDERATION OF WASTEWATER PROJECT BIDS bid in the amount of $2,282,000. calendar day! bid of $718,760. $3,000,760. COMMISSIONER REPORTS Commissioner Payton stated that there are connections that are made at Commission training. The City of Cedartown has great workers. She wants everyone to know that Commissioner Tuck stated that the MLK Celebration willl be held on. January 19th at Cedar Lake. the MLK celebration service will also be held on Sunday, January 20th at Friendship Baptist Church located on 321 MLK. Jr. Blvd., and Tony Davis and Blake Dodd willl be at the Auditorium. Commissioner Tuck commented that the as to the change of great things are going on in Cedartown. leadership tonight, follow good leadership.
