JEFF HAWKINS PROPOSED AGRICULTURAL & EDUCATION Glenn Robinson appeared before the Commission advising that the mission of the proposed agricultural and education centeri is to provide exceptional service through education with modern agricultural methods and technology, as well as, practical application with hands-on experience via a centrally located Multi-purpose Agricultural Center that benefits the entire area by offering services and opportunities not provided any place else in the county. Agriculture is the largest industryi in Polk County Their vision is to create a state-of-the-art multipurpose community based Agricultural Center located in an area of the county that would be easily accessible to Cedartown, Rockmart, Aragon and all rural areas of Polk County to promote and support agriculture. It must be large enough to provide space for agricultural training, attract sustainable agri-business, provide conference space and encourage healthy This proposed. Agricultural Center has been strongly endorsed by the Polk County Cattlemen's Association, Polk County Farm Bureau, Cedartown and Rockmart FFA, the Polk 4-H and: school system. Ith has gained further support from local, state and federal representatives including Senator Johnny Isakson, Senator David Perdue, Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, Representative Tom Graves, The multi-purpose agricultural education center would have meeting rooms for 500 people for trade shows, meeting rooms and proms. Polk County has given ai thumbs up. There would be an indoor farmers market and cannery. The location would be int the Fish Creek community in the old flea market Mr. Robinson stated that proposed funding from SPLOST is $5,000,000, and noted that private, educational and municipal funding will be sought. AGREEMENT commencing April 1, 2019 until April 1, 2020. City Manager Fann reviewed with the Commission the Youth Baseball Lease Agreement for one year EXECUTIVE SESSION executive session.
