The Carl Junction City Council met in regular session on Tuesday January 18,2022 at 7:00 PM at Hall. Powers called the meeting to order with the following present: Jim Gozia, Bob McAfee, Roger Spençer, Mike City Mark Mayor Mike Talley, City Clerk Maribeth Matney, Deputy City Clerk. ACCEPTLETTERS OF] RESIGNATION FROM CITY CLERK MATNEY AND CITY TREASURER DUNN Mayor Powers said he received ai retirement letter from Maribeth Matney thats she willl be retiring as Clerk on 2022. No APPROVAL OF BIDS FOR STRIPING BRIARBROOK DRIVE Mayor Powers said there were two bids for the Briarbrook Drive project, from Advance Workzone and Springfield and Sealing. The bid from Advance Workzone was $8,120 to stripe Briarbrook Dr from Casey's to Lakeview Lane andi includes Striping two middle stripes and two side lines. Thel bid from Springfield Striping and Sealing was $54,862.50. Mark Satterlee motioned to approve the bid from Advance Workzone for $8,120. Mike Burns seconded. Alli in favor. No opposed with two absent. APPROVALOF BIDS FOR' TWO VEHICLES FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT Mayor Powers said the delivery time for these vehicles is 30-34 weeks away. Chief McCall said he spoke to Joe Machens recently and he said the vehicles would no longer be available to order after the 2022-2023 budget was approved. He wants to replace the animal controlt truck and one ofthe] Fords sedans with al Ford SUV. ChiefMcCall saidt thej price for the animal control truck is $31,751 with no tradei in, He also said the base price fort the SUVi is $35,580 without at trade in. He also said there are: several options they want toi include since the vehiçles usually come witht those options, andt this raises thej price to $36,195. Steve Lawver said they have looked at keeping that vehicle as an administrative vehicle to use ift there is training or get if there is a vehiçle down.
