The Carl Junction City Council met in regular session on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at 7:00 PM at City Hall. Powers called the meeting to order with the following present: LaDonna Allen, Rick Flinn, Jim Gozia, Bob McAfee, Mayor Mike Burns, and] Holliel LaVigne. Mark Satterlee was absent. Also present were City Administrator Steve Lawver, City Roger Attorney Spencer, Mike Mark Talley, City Clerk Alaina Wright and City Administrator Assistant Crystal Winkfield. ATPROVALOEDISTRICION OF PAPER RECORDS Alaina Wright presented a list of paper records that can be destroyed per Missouri record retention rules. The proposed officer. Alaina Wright said the court records have been scanned, soi it will only be the paper copy that is destroyed and an electronic copy will remain. She also said Maribeth Matney believed the MOCCFOA records were beyond the retention period but she LaDonna Allen motioned to approve the paper files to be destroyed. Bob McAfee seconded. Steve Lawver said he has spent multiple hours on rewriting sections of code that will need to go before the Code Committee and P&Z to be reviewed. Rick Flinn asked how long it would be before the sections of code were ready for the Code Committee, and Steve Lawver said he believed he could have it done by thel February 7th meeting. documents included CDBG files, paper court records from 2004-2009 and some documents from Maribeth would verify that. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Steve Lawver said there was a bid opening for the screening structure in Deerfield and the low bid came in around $5,000 Steve also said he needs to meet with the public facilities committee separately about several bids and several things that need Mike Burns said after the Center Creek Bank Stabilization project, they tried to plant grass around the Cooley Branch, but Rick Flinn said on the other side oft the park, by the ballfields, there was grass coming in buti it has gone away and we need to Jim Gozia said the walking bridge across Center Creek is looking bad and needs to be repaired.
