The Carl Junction City Council met in regular session on Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 7:001 PM at City Hall. Mayor Mark Powers called ther meeting to order with the following present: LaDonna Allen, David Pyle, Roger Spencer, Hollie LaVigne, Walter Hayes, Bob McAfee, Rick Flinn, and Carole Wofford. Also present were City Administrator Steve Lawver, City Attorney Mike Talley, City Clerk Alaina Wright and City Administrator Assistant Crystal Winkfield. AGENDA Roger Spencer motioned to approve the agenda as presented. David Pyles seconded. Alli in favor. No opposed. LaDonna Allen motioned to approve the consent agenda. Rick Flinn seconded. Alli in favor. No opposed. PUBLIC FORUM REPORTS There was no one present for public forum. The Council reviewed the Administration report. LaDonna Allen asked if Steve Lawver was still looking for a mixed-use zoning for Pennell and he said yes. Mayor Powers presented a picture oft thej playground equipment installation at Lakeside Park. Steve Lawver said he needed to have meetings with both the code and public facilities committees. David Pyle said the Public Facilities Police Dept. report - LaDonna Allen congratulated Chief McCall on being voted the vice-chairman oft the Ozarks Drug Task committee could meet at 6:001 PM on. July 16 and the Code Committee could meet at 6:301 PM on. July 16. Force. Public Works report - Rick Flinn said the intersection of Angel Lea and Pennell looks better. COMMITTEE REPORTS Budget/Finance: LaDonna Allen had nothing to report. Code/1 Nuisance: Rick Flinn said there willl be a meeting at 6:301 PM on. July 16. Human Resources: Roger Spencer hadi nothing to report. Public Facilities & Planning: David Pylet there willl be a meeting at 6:001 PM on July 16. Economic Development: Hollie LaVigne hadi nothing to report. UNFINISHED BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS Steve Lawver said he went to 1201 Rocky Lane. He said we need to re-ditch both sides of Rocky Lane and get some culverts Rick Flinn said The Well is partnering with the Chamber of Commerce for the 4th of. July parade to decorate bikes for any Steve Lawver said he would like approval to spend $3000 for the fireworks display hosted by the Briarbrook CID. LaDonna Steve Lawver said the sludge removal proposal came in from Denali for $99,200. He said the minimum quantity is 1,500,000 gallons and they will need about 45 days to find aj place for the project.
