Municipal Building - 4000 Main Present: Mayor Margolis, Mayor Pro Tem Shinder, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Winget, Councilmember Reaves, Councilmember Bowers, Councilmember Britton and Councilmember Schupp 1. CALLT TO ORDER Mayor Margolis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. EXECUTIVE SESSION There were no items for this agenda. INVOCATION The invocation was led by Brian Hiatt from Comerstone Church. PLEDGES OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledges of Allegiance were led by the City Councilimembers. 3. PRESENTATIONS 3A. Proclamation recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week as April 14-20, 2024. Mayor Margolis along with Chief Denning, Assistant Police Chief Hutchins and Assistant Fire Chief Gauthier presented this item to the Rowlett Telecommunicators (Dispatch). 3B. Presentation of the 2024 Rowlett Arts and Humanities Commission's Young Artist Exhibit winners. Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Winget presented this item along with Library Director Laura Tschoerner and Arts and Humanities Commission Chair Laura Keasling and members of the Arts and The Young Artist Exhibit is a regional competition sponsored annually by the City's Arts and Humanities Commission. The competition is open to all public, private, andI homeschooled students in the Lake Ray Hubbard area, from kindergarten through high school. The Exhibit included both Humanities Commission. City of Rowlett 11567 two-dimensional and three-dimensional categories in the following divisions: Grades K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, Grades 9-12 and Special Needs Students. This year, the Commission received 74 entries. The Commission awarded cash prizes for first place entries in each division as well as second and third place entries in grades 9-12.
