Municipal Building - 4000 Main Present: Mayor Margolis, Mayor Pro Tem Winget, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Shinder, Councilmember Reaves, Councilmember Bowers, and Councilmember Schupp Absent: Councilmember Britton CALL TO ORDER 1. Mayor Margolis called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. 2. CITIZENS' INPUT One Public Inpute email was received for this meeting. No citizens spoke during Citizens' Input. 3. WORK SESSION 3A. Annual presentation of Golf Advisory Board to City Council. (30 minutes). Assistant City Manager Kristoff Bauer and Chair Brad Marshal presented this item. Other Golf Advisory Board members were present also. Mr. Marshal shared the Golf Advisory Board's perspective on the service of American Golf Corporation, which operates the course, last year's accompishments and this year's plans and goals. Some of the projects completed were: restored airways/rees/cart paths/rrigation due toi the Atmos Gas pipeline; renovated on-course restrooms; new HVAC in kitchen; restored lights in parking lot; restriped parking lot; added two new bunkers on! Holes 5 and 6. Projects inj progress: monument: signs to bei installed on Holes 1 and 18; fountains Goals include: continue to ensure compliance with the operating standards developed by the City and American Golf; continue to participate in the review and implementation of the updated standards; developguidelines for Cityf funded maintenance projects att the golf course; recommend maintenance projects; and recommend and support the growth of Waterview Golf Course. Mr. Marshal ended with an overview oft the long range master plan for Waterview. 3B. Presentation on the Public Works Asphalt Road Rehabilitation Pilot Program. (20 minutes) rewired to operate safely; roof ventilation for clubhouse. Assistant City Manager (ACM) Becky Diviney presented this item outlining the Pilot Program that Public Works will conduct starting July 10, 2024. Several Public Works staff were in attendance City of Rowlett 11609 also. ACM Diviney stated the staff members who perform asphalt repairs and concrete panel replacements would like to evaluate their ability to construct full-depth asphalt roadway repairs. This asphalt repair would begin on Castle Drive from the City limits to approximately 300 feet southwest of Merrit Road. The project was designed by the Public Works Engineering Division and will include traffic control along with striping and signage. The project is anticipated to take four weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions. Ift this Pilot Program is successful, then staff Itis to be noted this program was brought to management by staff in hopes of facilitating more efficiently with other infrastructure projects ongoing by the Public Works Department. Council was very appreciative that staff was forward-thinking and brought their idea to management.
