ORDINANCE 2017-04  AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TOLAR, TEXAS RATIFYING THE ADOPTION OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2017 - 2018 MUNICIPAL BUDGET(S) RAISING MORE REVENUE FROM AD VALOREM (PROPERTY) TAXES DUE TO INCREASED PROPERTY VALUATIONS AND THE ADDITION OF REAL PROPERTY TO THE TAX ROLL THAN IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2016 - 2017 MUNICIPAL BUDGET(S); AUTHORIZING THE CITY SECRETARY TO TAKE ALL NECESSARY STEPS TO IMPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; INCORPORATING RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ANY OTHER CODE PROVISIONS, ORDINANCES, OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES, AND OTHER PROVISIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE  DATE.  WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tolar, Texas has, on the same date and prior to its consideration and adoption ofthis Ordinance, adopted thel Budget(s) of the City ofTolar for fiscal year 2017-2018; and  CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TOLAR THAT:  SECTION ONE. In accordance with the requirements of Section 102.007(c) ofthe Texas Local Government Code, the adoption of the FY 2017 - 2018 budget(s), which will require raising more revenue from property taxes due to increased property valuations and the addition ofreal property to the tax roll than in thel FY2016-2 2017 budget(s), ish hereby ratified by the City Council in all things, thereby ratifying the property tax revenues reflected in the FY SECTION TWO. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Secretary to take all necessary steps to implement SECTION THREE. The City Council finds all of the above recitals to be true and correct and incorporates the SECTION FOUR. Ifany section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase ofthis Ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or illegal, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections ofthis Ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this Ordinance, and each section, subsection, clause, or phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentençes, clauses, or phrases be SECTION FIVE.
