TSC17-015 Consider the approval ofTraffic Safety Commission meeting minutes of September 14,  2017.  Approved as circulated.  B. TSC17-016 Receive ai report, hold a discussion and provide direction relating to speed limit along Pritam Deshmukh talked about this item showing a map. A former Commissioner asked staff tol look Deshmukh stated that there were speed surveys taken, one while UNT was not in session and one while they were in session. With the surveys and the city ordinances they do not support reduction of Staffrecommends: we do not reduce the: speed this roadway will be worked on in the near future for Commissioner Krutka asked if the street will be worked on to slow traffic. Deshmukh added that bike lanes are being considered there are discussions regarding Hickory to Carroll for upcoming changes. Krutka asked about protection ofbike lanes. In favor Commissioner Krutka suggested that the bike lanes could also help with speed on this roadway. Commissioner. DeVinney asked who enforces this area. Deshmukh answered the city enforces this  area. Enforcement is not aj problem.    Commissioner Cross stated shei is all: for public safety, but there are sO many stop lights in this area There was a motion to accept staff recommendation to keep the speed limit the same by Commission Owen, second by Commissioner DiMarco. Vote 7-0 approved.  that you can'treally go over 30mph.  C. TSC17-017 Receive ai report hold a discussion and provide direction regrading resident concerns  along Hobson Street.  Pritam Deshmukh talked about this item and showed ai map. The issue is citizens wanted some sort of protected crosswalk across Hobson at Santa Monica to South Lakes- Eureka Park. Survey data was taken in October oft this year. Background includes Hobson being an arterial street with quite a bit'o of traffic, with approximately 8,000 vehicle trips per day. Itis aj primary connector between FM2181  and FM1830. This location does not warrant a traffic signal. There is currently a crosswalk, but does not have the ADA ramps.  Staffrecommends: searching for funding options to install the flashing crosswalk signs. This particular sign would have video detection to automatically start flashing when a pedestrian walks into Commissioner DiMarco asked ifit is the same as McKinney, Deshmukh stated this will be LEDs on the sign and will only blink when there are pedestrians in the zone.
