Opened meeting with a prayer. 7:01pm 2. Citizen and Guest Participation: Paige - no comments, here for agenda item 7:02pm 3. We discussed and approved previous minutes. Motion to approve made by 7:07pm 4. We discussed and approved payment of bills for the city and the water sewer and garbage. Motion to approve made by Aaron Bessett, 2nd by. Jessica Scales, passed by 7:12pm 5. Discussed and approved the monthly reports for the city and the water sewer and garbage. Discussed law costs and city logo design choices anonymously: submitted. Decided to choose logo tonight. After discussion, motion made to approve logo choice "D" to be placed on new work truck. Motion made by Aaron Bessett, 2nd by Larry Crump, passed by unanimous vote. Discussed necessary lighting outside community center for safe lighting while walking. Motion made to purchase outdoor motion lighting to be installed outside community center entrance and alley. Motion made by Frank Pearce, 7:30pm 6. Discussed and approved the Beautification Committee request for Paige, to close a portion of Main St fori the Christmas Market, to be held on November 6th 2022. Motion to allow made by Frank Pearce, 2nd by Aaron Bessett, passed by unanimous vote. 7:33pm 7. Discussed the sewer pond cleaning project status. Still need a discharge permit, process being done but because not currently active, we will be receiving a fine from TCEQ, thet funds of which are to be used on the cleaning project. Engineer Deana will be working on berm to make sure everything will work with new system. Discussed new city pickup and modifications needed. Bed liner will be sprayed in and side step plates installed so anyone can get in. est. $950. Motion to use USDA funds left from truck grant to purchase needed accessories for new city work truck. Motion made by Franky Soto, 2nd by Larry Crump, passed by unanimous vote. 8:01pm 9. Discussed the installation of the new carport for the dump truck and the tractor. Problems with anchors, had to purchase more and have installed. Fence is only portion that still needs work, will be done in near, future after brace bars adjusted. 8:10pm 10. Discussed more details and specs for the construction project for the Old City Hall Bldg. Reviewed our choices for materials and costs. Discussed having the Gossetts(local contractors) look at our supply list and assist us in creating a spec sheet for each area of work needed (i.e. plumbing, electric, roofing, flooring, windows, etc.) Will get spec sheet put together first before starting bid process.
