Mayor Adame called to move. Agenda Item 10 after Agenda Item 14. Director Carr addressed the Council about the presentation from thel Port ofCorpus Christi. Introducing Omar Garcia who ist the Chief External Officer. Garcia addressed the Council and statedl he wanted to give the City ofl Ingleside an update on the Port of Corpus Christi. He started offb by addressing the City Manager, letting him know that he would be able to help with the TxDot funding for the street lighting for the State Highway. Along with TxDot the Port has no bills filed this year but are monitoring several bills this year at Legislation that provides funding to Ports. Ports are underfunded, and the funding comes from the Federal Government. He also spoke about requests in to support the 18C Ports, Thel Port of Corpus Christi ist the number one Crude Oil export gateway, second largest in LNG export, Largest Port int terms of revenue tonnage int the Country, and the third largest Port by water borne tonnage. Enbridge is one of the largest customers formally known as Moda. He spoke on the following subjects: Economic Impact, Export ban being lifted that impacted thel Port, 2022 record high, Top Cargo going to the Netherlands, Customers who invested in this Region, Channel Improvement Project Schedule, Cost of the Channel Improvement Project, Hydrogen being the next fuel source to be used all over the world, Competition with other states for the Hydrogen) Hubs, Pipelines are already in place fort the Hydrogen which is a low carbon alternative to natural gas, Carbon Capture to reduce emissions, Environmental Precepts, Commitment to surrounding communities, affordable learning labi tol learn about thel Port, and thej partnership with the City of Ingleside. Simmons Park for May 5 through 6, Mayor Adame called for Agenda item 14 to be moved after Agenda Item 7. Martha Habluetvel addressed the Council by introducing the back row as being with the Garden Club. She stated the Garden Club would like to use. No Simmons Park for Market Days on May 5th and May 6th for Cinco de Mayo Market Days. She said that they were going toj join the gypsies in) Live Oak Park but could not afford a booth. The Garden Club felt] like people would not want to spend their money to buy products ifl having to pay for entry. She explained that the Garden Club is requesting the permit to keep vendor costs down. Discussion was held among Council and Staff about recommendations on the four (4) applications from Benjamin Tucker, Cynthia Wilson, Stephen Cardenas, and Teresa Flores. Council Member John Salinas stated that his recommendation would be an Angler, Steve Cardenas and 2nd choice would be Ben Tucker due tol his overall plan of the city's vision for Cove Park. At7:52 p.m. Mayor Adame returned to the dais. Further discussion was held on the size oft the committee, eventually adding the Director of Parks and Recreation to have two (2) staff members on the board, Ordinance for Park Board section 50-76, Tournaments, Allocation of money for maintenance and repairs.
