Council Comments and Reports A. Council discussion of public information regarding Animal Control Facility. Mayor Adame stated that there was a newspaper publishing on. July 26, 2023, where the article suggested the cost was excessive for facilities to house dogs and cats while Mayor Oscar Adame's agenda to focus on road improvements kicked the project to the backburner for some time. Mayor Adame stated that he had brought upi infrastructure because it) has been neglected for years. He stated that the city is having issues with the lift stations that have been brought tol his attention. Mayor Adame stated that he never said for any of these projects to be defunded. The current projects were funded1 by the last Council, and he has always said he would like to see all projects done. Projects were put on hold last year because our staff found that the funds were co-mingled. This caused the City to hire an auditor to separate the funds tor make sure there was enough money to cover the costs ofeach project. The animal shelter prints were a hundred percent complete a couple of months ago because it took the engineer three years to complete them. Mayor Adame stated that the City must wait for plans before going out for bids. Mayor Adame stated that he never received a phone call for an interview on this matter and to please get the facts straight.
