II. Mayor Doug Simmerman called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance and Citizens in attendance. Invocation was led by Mayor Simmerman and the pledge was recited by the mayor, Council, III. Announcements - Mayor Simmerman announced that he had surgery on his arm, and everything went well, and he is healing. IV. Citizens addressed the council - None V. Reports A. Chief Paul Robertson submitted the Police Report. B. Mayor Doug Simmerman submitted the Maintenance Report. Mayor Doug Simmerman submitted the Fire Dept Report. D. Mayor Doug simmerman submitted the Court Report. VI. Consent Agenda A. Guy Butler motioned to accept the. June 9, 2020 Regular Meeting minutes. Betty B. Julie Morris motioned to accept the. Mayor simmerman stated that the camera quote supplied by Griffin would require a monthly cellular charge. The camera is solar powered. We can purchase expandable cameras from Costco. Citizen Kyle Pettit asked about the camera that is already located at the park. Mayor Simmerman stated that the cameras were not working and that the equipment was in a bad spot. Guy Butler stated that we need to shop around. The council will get 3 quotes to compare. Two from companies and one from camera systems the city can install. No action was taken at this time. B. The Council reviewed the 2020 annual fire hydrant report. Julie Morris motioned to replace/repair 4 hydrants requiring immediate attention and have the maintenance department repair the other hydrants and report progress back at next council meeting. Betty McCarter seconded the motion. The motion passed 3-0. The Mayor and the council discussed the vandalism at the city park. The council stated the importance of getting cameras installed and running. Betty McCarter stated that by city ordinance the park closes at 10 p.m. and can we not put up signage and enforce the ordinance. The council needs to get a quote together to find out the cost to repair the bathrooms.. Julie Morris suggests working on installing security cameras and then revisit the cost and repairs needed. No action was taken D. Mayor Doug Simmerman stated that due to the previous city attorney suspending service during our contract with Mike's Lawn Service, the contract will not end until August 25. Kyle Pettit asked what happen to the mowers the city had. Mayor Simmerman stated he was unsure. Betty McCarter stated that Atwood's had the 54 in deck Bad Boys on sale. Mayor Simmerman believes that would be to: small. The council would like to review quotes fora a 72 in deck. No action was taken at this E.
