REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER G-2647 Accept finance report for period ending January 31, 2024 Rick Overgaard gave the following report: General Fund revenues for the month of January, the fourth month of the fiscal year, were $6,332,713. Major revenues collected for the month include Property taxes of $5,413,985, Franchise taxes of $21,366, Permits of $23,725, Fines and Forfeitures of $60,493, Charges for Services of $200,148, Other Agencies of $39,000, and Interest of $105,700. Sales tax collected and recognized as revenue in January was $442,885. Fiscal year to date sales tax is $1,782,828, an increase of 20.2% over last year at this time. General Fund revenues collected through the end of January were $16,166,233 General Fund expenditures for the month of January were $2,367,573. Fiscal year to date expenditures were $7,270,558 and 29.6% of the adopted budget. Fiscal year to date expenditures increased compared to last year because EMS salaries were reimbursed from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The ARPA grant Total General Fund revenues of $16,166,233 were more than total General Fund Debt Service revenues for the month of January totaled $739,974. $401,489 was from property tax and $338,485 was a transfer from the Stormwater Fund to cover the drainage related debt service. Fiscal year to date revenues total $1,336,107. Debt Service payments of $1,249,217 were made at the end of January. Total revenues of$1,336,107 exceeded total expenditures of $1,249,217 by $86,890. EDC revenues for January were $232,407. EDC expenditures for January were Revenues received for January were $158,704 from stormwater utility fees, mineral lease revenue, and interest earnings. Expenditures fori the Capital Projects Fund were $362,310 for January. January expenditures included the Dutch Branch Drainage Study, Storm Drain Assessment, and a transfer out of $338,485 for stormwater related debt. Expenditures exceeded revenues by $203,606. Sufficient funds are available in the current fund balances of the Capital Projects Fund.
