REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER G-2657 Approve finance report for period ending May 31, 2024 Rick Overgaard gave the following report: General Fund revenues for the month of May, the eighth month of the fiscal year, were $998,136. Major revenues collected for the month include Property taxes of $88,751, Franchise taxes of $154,609, Permits of $36,870, Fines and Forfeitures of $60,545, Charges for Services of $90,971, Other Agencies of $66,278, and Interest of $116,935. Sales tax collected and recognized as revenue in May was $376,416. Fiscal year to date sales tax is $3,219,945, an increase of 11.4% over last year at this time. General Fund revenues collected through the end of May were $25,143,855 and 102.5% General Fund expenditures for the month of May were $1,484,419. May expenditures were significantly less than the prior fiscal year due to the TIF expiring. Fiscal year to date expenditures were $13,684,019 and 55.8% of the Total General Fund revenues of $25,143,855 were more than total General Fund Debt Service revenues for the month of May totaled $6,643 and were all from property tax. There were no expenditures in May. The next debt service payments EDC revenues for May were $208,465. EDC expenditures for May were $29,466. Revenues received for May were $104,950 from stormwater utility fees, mineral lease revenue, and interest earnings. Expenditures for the Capital Projects Fund were: $2,4981 for May. May expenditures included the Dutch Branch Drainage Study of the budget. adopted budget. expenditures of $13,684,019 by $11,459,836. are due August 1, 2024. Revenues exceeded expenditures by $178,999. 2 and Storm Drain Assessment project. Revenues exceeded expenditures by $102,452. Sufficient funds are available in the current fund balances of the Capital Projects Fund. This fund operates on a project basis rather than a specific fiscal On May 31, 2024, the City had $39,909,044 invested at varying interest rates; the Motion by Ms. Franklin, seconded by Mr. Tiner to accept the finance report for the year. COUNCIL MEMBER AND STAFF COMMENTS Ms. Franklin announced the following events: Friday, June 21- American Legion Post 297 and VW Post 10429 Hamburger Night Friday, June 21- Benbrook Library Python Robotics for Grades 8-11 from 1:00 PM Friday June 21 - Benbrook Library Family Fort Night from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Benbrook Animal Shelter. Adoption - Friday and Sunday 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Mr. Addison announced that the first meeting in July 2024 has been moved to Tuesday, July 2, 2024 since the normal date falls on July 4, 2024.
