KIT CARSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MINUTES AUGUST 10, 2022 The Kit Carson County Board of County Commissioners meeting began in work session at 8:00 AM. Those present were Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Cory Wall, Lynsay Cormack, and Nancy Gilley. In-Person Schedule- - Commissioners Board Room 8:00 AM-Pre-Department Head Meeting 8:30 AM -) Department Head Meeting - host Treasurer Pam Mills 10:00 AM - Alissa James - DHS-Uplate/Contracts See the Board of Human Services Agenda See the Board of Public Health Agenda 10:30. AM- - Valerie Boyd - Public Health Director- Orange Sheet and Purchase Orders 11:00 AM- Collin Koop - Grounds & Buildings Manager - Updates Discussion was held on the fair schedule for next year. Change the concert rider to include set up & sound check. Ranch Rodeo would like to come back. Concrete pads may be needed for underneath AC units in various places. Electrical needs still need to be met. CA Line-Line Voltage graph was handed out. There was an issue with the opening/closing ofthe east doori in the pavilion. Would like to keep closed during extreme hot days. Check into locking system. ADA concerns around the fairgrounds & show pavilion were discussed. Drainage from the rains was also discussed. Possible dirt work or drain pans needed. 4H bathrooms need to be updated with the addition oft the pavilion. These bathrooms are cleaned by the 4H kid's however, they are maintained & repaired by the County, sO they are for general public use. Discussion on purchasing a generator for the fairi instead ofrenting one. G&B are mowing around the towers in Flagler & Bethune. Hunters last day is today. 12:00 PM-Lunch The Board of County Commissioners recessed at 12:00 PM returning at 1:00 PM. Those present for the session were Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Cory Wall, Lynsay Cormack, Heather Morris, and Nancy Gilley. 1:00 PM-1 Heather Morris Ambulance Director- Updates Discussed in detail the Cadet program. A draft pamphlet was handed out. Heather will send Lynsay additional information & will be re-examined later. Continuing to investigate new billing options. Bethune has requested Ambulance at. Jr High football home games. 1:451 PM - Brent Jacobson - Stock Dog Trial The first stock dog trial went well. There are some small changes to make for next year.
