Zwirn suggested the county purchase trees from the Soil Conservation district and use them as snow fence tol helpl keeps snow off of ther roads int the winter. The group discussed budget constraints and agreed that this is a goodi idea that warrants further discussion Permits - Andersen presented four Special Transportation Permits for Black Gold Energy Service LLC to be ratified. Commissioner Weaver moved to ratify the signatures on the four Special Transportation Permits for Black Gold Energy Service to transport a cooler and a compressor. Commissioner Gates seconded the motion which passed by unanimous vote. The group also Efficiency - Lorimer provided an efficiency report for the Blade Crew. Andersen and Lorimer are utilizing a time off calendar to make sure areas are still being covered while employees are on Settling Pond = The Road and Bridge crew cleaned out the Settling Pond at the Fairgrounds. Andersen has pulled out about 41 feet of material that has washed in to the pond. Road Report-L Lorimer provided a road report on the work that has and is being done on county roads. County Road BB and 58 is completed by the Ferguson Ponds. The ditches were shaved down to prevent moisture from pooling on the road. Services The Board of County Commissioners convened asi the Board of Social Services ats 9:30a.m. Human! Services Director Kara Hoover, Administrative Assistant Lori Summers and Child Welfare & Adult Protection Supervisor Hollie Hillman as well as the Child welfaret team were present. The Child Welfare Team recently received special recognition from the Colorado Office of Children, Youth and Families for the exceptional service they provide. One team member, Brandi Brophy, was recognized for going above and beyond in her duties. The commissioners thanked the entire team for their service to the community. Detailed minutes of the Board of Social Services are maintained separately by the Department of Human Services. The Board of County Commissioners reconvened at 10:30a a.m. Fairgrounds At 10:30 a.m. the Commissioners were joined by Finance Officer, Sarah Carwin who was filling in for Fairgrounds Manager Carmen Murray to discuss advertising for the upcoming fair, and projects that need to be completed at the fairgrounds. The group discussed where to have the expenditures come from for Commissioner Weaver moved to have the Fair Office roof repair and the Home Ec. building repairs be spent out of Fund 6, the Conservation Trust Fund. Yuma County Clerk At11:00a.m. the Commissioners werej joined by Beverly' Wenger to discuss department updates. Wenger presented a resolution to close her office for Election Day. Wenger also presented information on a grant she has applied for. The Grant will help cover maintenance fees for 3 years on recording equipment and help pay for Doc Alert. Wenger also stated that she has paused on hiring employees for the time being. The group discussed whether or noti the Commissioner's should take over Liquor Licensing. RRWCD At 11:30 a.m. the Commissioners met with Robin Liming and Deb Daniels form RRWCD. The group discussed an upcoming fee structure change. There is also a map being created to show what irrigated acres have been retired in the Southfork Focus Zone. Among other topics discussed were the Compact Compliance Pipeline Expansion, Yuma County Conservation District Grazing program. For the Acreage Retirement Program, there have been over 12,000 acres retired in the SouthZ Zone. Land Use County Land Use Administrator, Niki Alexander was heard at 1:00 p.m. to review Land Use and GIS business and conduct Land Use Hearings. There is $500.00 remaining in the account that is not being used. Carwin will cut ac check for the remaining balance of $500.00 to be deposited ini to the 2% 4H bank account. Hammond and Ritchey will put together a Resolution to close the Junior Livestock bank account. Hammond gave updates on tax collecting for Omimex. Tax statements have been printed and will be sent out soon.
