Minutes of Previous Meetings: Action: Mr. Williams moved, and Mr. Stone seconded, to approve the minutes of the meeting ofthe Teller County Board ofCounty Commissioners on April 9, 2024, as presented. All Commissioners voted yes. Accounts Payable: Action: Mr. Stone moved, and Mr. Williams seconded, that thel Board approve the accounts payable run date of April 18, 2024, in the amount of $639,499.37.All Commissioners voted yes. Board Reports: Mr. Stone: Gave update on the final weeks ofl legislative session. Opposes House Bill 24-1460 on law enforcement misconduct reporting requirements. SheriffMikesell is testifying today in opposition. Attended the Senior Coalition Expo event in Woodland Park last weekend. Glad to see that firei mitigation is occurringi in the community. This is the time of Attended meetings with Pikes Peak. Area Council ofGoverments (PPACG), including ai transit meeting for Cripple Creek and' Teller County Senior Coalition. Attended Senior Coalition Event and commented on the decreasei in their funding. Recognized Teller County Public Health and Department of Social Services for yeart to mitigate your property. Attended the Colorado Sportsmen's Caucus Day at the Capitol in Denver. This was a bipartisan event to educate legislators and the public about hunting and fishing traditions; commented the urban/rural divide int the state. Provided an update on the progress being made with thel Department of Natural Resources (DNR) onj preserving futile water rights. Attended a Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI) session on' Thursday. Hei is focused on bills regarding land use and clean energy. The bill on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) will only apply to areas with ap population ofr more than 40,000 soi it will not affect Teller County. There arei multiple gun bills and the conceal carry bill goes to the Governor today. Mr. Campbell: contest. Attended a 4H event last Saturday and judged the smoked meats and BBQ Attended the Community Partnership Summerfest event and it was well-attended. Gave update oft the ongoing audit oft thel Pikes Peak Workforce Center (PPWC). Hei is tracking 18 Tax and Finance related bills. HCR 24-1006 was introduced to submit a property tax bill to the voters in November to amend the Constitution for The Crabby Tax Night with thel Kiwanis was successful. TABOR rates plus 2% growth on property tax values. Elected Officials Report: (None) Administrator's Report: Ross Herzog, County Administrator Teller County Sheriff'so office is fully staffed. Public Works has openings for equipment operators. Road crews continue to work oni repairs focusing on potholes. Teller County Wastewater Utilities (TCWU) was awarded a one million dollar grant from the Department ofl Local Affairs (DOLA) for its upgrade and expansion project. Commissioner Campbell commented on the extensive work Public Works is doing to repair the Commissioner Williams shared he had positive feedback from two Home Owners Associations roads. int the county. 2.
