KIT CARSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MINUTES DECEMBER 15, 2022 The Kit Carson County Board of County Commissioners meeting began in work session at 8:00 AM. Those present were Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Cory Wall, and Susan Corliss. Lynsay Cormack was absent. In-Person Schedule- Commissioners Board Room 8:30 AM. - Department Head Meeting 8:00 AM. - Work Session Hosted by Commissioner Dave Hornung replacing Extension Agent Scott Stinnett Commissioner Meeting to convene with Pledge of Allegiance Recited during the Department Head Meeting. 10:00 AM- Collin Koop- Grounds and Buildings Update Phone Meeting to include Cheyenne County Commissioners and Air Bound A report was given on the discussion with the engineers. Their focus is on moving the HVAC units to the ground level. After the power survey, it was advised to install the shunts tobuffer the power fluctuations. Ther report on1 the power voltage was good but not monitored during the summer months when there is a lot of variation in the voltage. After discussing requests of moving office desks and equipment, the Board ofCounty Commissioners decided that Department Heads need to come to the commissioners before any changes are made in Carnival options of working with Cheyenne County to possibly get better deals with vendors since their fair is the week before Kit Carson County's. Phone calls were made to Ferris Wheel Rents and Air Bound including Cheyenne County Commissioner Darren Dickey. Ferris Wheel Rents was willing to look at a package deal but would need to check on aj possible calendar conflict. Airl Bound did not usually look att this as part oft their business the county offices. plan but would work with both counties to provide a quote. 11:00 AM-J Jeff Cure - County Attorney prepared for next week's meeting. 12:00 PM-Lunch Corliss. The Town of Stratton sent ai request for a waiver from the. Annexation Impact Report for ground on the west side oft the town limits. Discussion was held on request. He has heard from Aviat but not a certain date for the upgrade. Vouchers for payout as the end of year for comp time and vacation hours over 80 for Communication Center employees. The Board of County The Communication Center pickup is in the shop; the compression test did not look good. There may be al bent rod or more damage. An update will be given when available.
