KIT CARSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MINUTES APRIL 5, 2023 The Kit Carson County Board of County Commissioners meeting began in work session at 8:00 AM. Those present were Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Cory Wall, Susan Corliss, and Theresa Korbelik. In-Person Schedule- Commissioners Board Room 8:00 AM- Work Session Commissioner Meeting to convene with Pledge of Allegiance Hitchcock, Collin Koop, Theresa Korbelik, and Susan Corliss. 9:00 AM- - Collin Koop Grounds & Buildings Bids were presented and reviewed for the following projects: Lawn Spraying for the courthouse, Annex and Carousel Park The Pledge of Allegiance was recited at 9:00 AM by Dave Hornung, Cory Wall, Stan Astro Spraying. - $2,370.00 Burlington Klawn - $3,485.00 Concrete floor in FCSC Show Pavilion An additional bid for a partial cement portion of the floor has been given as well. Aeschliman Construction - $40,200.00 Adept Concrete, Inc. $92,940.51 Donn Witzel Construction, Inc. - $49,782.00 Fat Puppy Construction, LLC-$ $49,590.04 Partial 30x676'-510,20000 One oft the companies has withdrawn their bid on the Courthouse HVAC Project, sO Collin is looking for at least another company to have comparable bids. Updates were given on the audio project at the fairgrounds. 9:30. AM-3 Travis Gale- - VSO - Equipment The. County computer is set up and ready for use. Travis will be working out of The Post while he isi in Burlington.. He has requested additional technology items to make the job easier: a county cell phone, mobile hot spot, and a Printer.Copler/Scamner. These items will allow him to work any place that he would be meeting a veteran. The training with the Regional VSO, Glen Marciniak is going well, Todd Holmes joined the meeting to discuss the technology items and has acell phone that he can use immediately but will have to order the other items. 10:00. AM- - Brandon Beechley - Landfill Director. Inspection Thé. annual inspection was reviewed with only minor violations. The natural ditch that has formed by the old cell may be approved without. additional dirt work; hei is still waiting on approval from the state on that project. Thej pump on: thei inspection has already been ordered and waiting for delivery. It will be wired by Daniel Electric when it arrives. The next engineering items will be for the cost estimate of closure that has to be completed every five years; thisi is aj possibility to adjust the 100 year flood plain this time. Arequest was made to advertise for seasonal help for the summer; pick up trash and clean shop during the heat of the day. Brandon would like to reach out to the school and post on Facebook. Things are really going well with the 10:30. AM - Jennifer Gribble - DHS Budget Corrections - See Board ofHuman Services Agenda Jeff & Kelly Alvarez gave updates on the changes to the Land Use and Subdivision forms. Xcel wants toi meet only with Kelly on easements and special transportation: requests. It was decided that Jeff and Dave Hornung will attend the meeting scheduled for April 27 at 3:00 p.m. current staff. 11:00 AM-Jeff Cure- County Attorney 12:00 PM-Lunch The Board of County Commissioners recessed at 12:10 PM returning at 1:10 PM. The printer at the Coroner's Office is not working and service with Great Copier is not happening either. Todd would like toi find one that could just be purchased.
