KIT CARSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MINUTES JUNE 7, 2023 The Kit Carson County Board of County Commissioners meeting began in work session at 8:00 AM. Those present were Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Cory Wall, Susan Corliss, and Theresa Korbelik. In-Person Schedule Commissioners Board Room 8:30 AM-1 Heather Morris Ambulance Staff updates were given that have resulted in the two openings for Ambulance full time staff. 9:00 AM- Collin Koop Grounds & Buildings Updates for the fairgrounds: Colby Canvas contract for two tents for the arena hospitality area and the Sheriff's area was presented. There is a problem connecting with the city sewer from the livestock pavilion. A couple of solutions were suggested. Aj proposal for poultry cage bases was presented from Durham Ag Tech; ten bases would be needed at a cost of$445.62 per base. The sound system has not been finished and no contact with Kinnon Entertainment at this time. The rental agreement needs to have a Save the Date clause. The water truck fill location will be updated to a water hydrant. Looking for a solution to the standing water in arena RV parking area. Commissioner Meeting to convene with Pledge of Allegiance The pledge was: recited at 9:37. AM. 9:30 AM - Shawn Franz - InfoRad Quote The purchase order for InfoRad, Inc. provides group texting in a presetting for a one-time fee and rate of. .04 per text. Next year will be based on the pert text rate oft the previous year. The CodeRed annual agreement with Cheyenne and Lincoln Counties was presented. Onsolve - CodeRed Annual Agreement - Additional Item Stan Hitchcock moved to authorize signing the Onsolve - CodeRed Annual Agreement to assure services are provided to the population in Kit Carson, Cheyenne, and Lincoln Counties with total cost of$13,332.74 divided between the counties based on population - 48.45% by Kit Carson, 39.65% by Lincoln, and 11.90% by Cheyenne effective from June 28, 2023, to. June 27, 2024, seconded by Dave Hornung. Discussion was held on whether the County Attorney should be involved with the termination process of employees. Only update on the longhorn situation was that the community claims action is continuing.. 12:00 PM-L Lunch The Board of County Commissioners recessed at 12:00 PM returning at 1:00 PM. Those present for the afternoon session were Cory Wall, Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Todd Todd Holmes gave an update on the workers schedule for ticket taker positions. Additional help may be needed to cover all of the shifts. He will have a better update towards the end of Holmes, Theresa Korbelik, and Susan Corliss. June. 1:30 PM - Sheriff Belden - New Hires Katrina Griffin, Civil Clerk and Adam Cisneros, Deputy The new hires were reviewed from applications through interviews for the Civil Clerk and Patrol Officer. Plans are fora a smooth transition ofthe kitchen duties to the Jail staffi is planned for the end of June. No updates on the longhorn situation. Report was given on a reported incident at al Flagler church; the department was not called but Sheriff Belden followed up with the pastor. 2:00 PM-I Luetta Davis- - Memorial Bench ofs Southern Colorado Show Pavilion was approved.
