BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MINUTES FEBRUARY 7,2024 The Board of County Commissioners meeting began in work session at 8:00 AM. Those present were Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Cory Wall, Susan Corliss, and Theresa Korbelik. In-Person Schedule - Commissioners Board Room 8:00 AM - Work Session Commissioner Meeting to convene with Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited at 8:50 AM. Those present were Cory Wall, Stan Hitchcock, Dave Hornung, Cory Wall, Valerie Boyd, Theresa Korbelik, and Susan Corliss. 9:00. AM I- Valerie Boyd - Department of Public Health & Environment See the Board of] Public Health Agenda and minutes. 9:30 AM-] Heather Morris Ambulance New Hire An application was presented for review for the last full-time position. The EMT class finished on Monday night. Some have their practical and all will need to complete their testing. Five staff members going to start the AEMT class that will be 14 weeks with two clinicals in Limon. 11:00 AM-. Jeff Cure - County Attorney The appointment was canceled. 12:00 PM - Lunch The Board of County Commissioners recessed at 11:55 AM: returning at 12:55 PM. Those present for the afternoon session were Cory Wall, Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Theresa Korbelik, and Susan Corliss. 1:00 PM -] Brandon Beechley - Landfill Discussion on crushing the cement at the Landfill. Iti is going to cost $9.50 pert ton to crush. It was decided to charge $20.00 per ton for crushed cement. 1:30 PM- Collin Koop Grounds & Buildings There has been an inquiry from the Prairie Cultural Revitalization committee to use the Farm Credit of Southern Colorado Livestock Pavilion for dance classes. The funds raised from these classes will go towards the non-profit's project to update 14th Street in Burlington. This will be allowed as long as there are no rented events scheduled for the building. Updates on the HVAC project: the Samsung units are almost completely installed. A walk through with Samsung and the electrical general were done during the last week. The issues that were found include the fence around the unit that may need to be expanded and a few small items; these will be discussed in detail when the project is completed. The local electrical work needs to be finished to complete the job. 20240207 Board of County Commissioners Minutes Page 1 of7 The tractor for the fairgrounds is going to require addition repairs in the transmission. The total estimate ini repairs is now $10,000 to $13,000. The board approved the repairs seeing that itis still less than al used tractor. Donn Witzel will bej putting his lift ont the next auction unlesst the county isi interested inj purchasing it. KCC Grounds & Buildings has been storing and using for the lift the Carnival Updates: checking into parts that may be needed for the Tip Top ride before the purchase is finalized. Collin has been attending Zoom meetings with the State; one of the things covered wast the fees for licensing that would be $2,000 this year and $3,600 next year. The operator fee is $500. He has asked ift there is any waiver or exemption for government entities. Fairgrounds buildings (Rodeo Secretary and Extension Ag Equipment) bids were presented from Eagle Carports, Fat Puppy Construction, Witzel Construction, and Cleary Buildings. The Board of County Commissioners requested that the bids be per building and that concrete work for last year. each building be broken out. 2:00 PM 1:00-PM- Greeley Lock & Key Jail Cameras Derek Ellis, Sheriff Travis Belden, and Collin Koop were present for the courthouse camera project bid presentation. Two options were quoted for a cloud based and in-house server. The installation process will include all new CAT6 cabling with 44 cameras in and around the courthouse. BUSINESS MEETING -3:00PM 1.
