BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MINUTES FEBRUARY21, 2024 The Board of County Commissioners meeting began in work session at 8:00. AM. Those present were Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Cory Wall, Susan Corliss, and Theresa Korbelik. In-Person Schedule - Commissioners Board Room 8:00 AM - Work Session Commissioner Meeting to convene with Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited at 9:25A AM. Those present were Cory Wall, Stan Hitchcock, Dave Hornung, Jennifer Gribble, Kristi Janousek, Carley Lane, Theresa Korbelik, and Susan Corliss. 9:00 AM-] DHS -I Monthly Financials See the Board ofHuman Services agenda and minutes. 10:00 AM-Jeff Cure - County Attorney Updates were given on the long horn situation. 10:00 AM- Work Session - OffSite 11:00 AM- Sheriff Belden Vehicles & New Hire Itv was discovered that the Tahoes that had been ordered through Vince's were not placed as requested. The dealership was not sure. how this happened. Sheriff Belden was able to locate another county that was interested in purchasing the Tahoes from Vince's. Another dealership has three Tahoes that fit the needs of the Sheriffs department in a different color. Bid sheets Orange sheets were presented for two new hires for the Jail. There were seven interviews Cory Wall moved to authorize signing three Quote Worksheets for three 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe (CK10706) 4WD 4dr Commercial with GM Governmental Bid Assistance at a cost of $52,970.00 per vehicle, seconded by Stan Hitchcock. Dave Hornung. 11:30 AM- - Shawn Franz e911 Legislation Explained the impact to e911 by Senate Bill 24-139 Concerning the creation of the 911 Services Enterprise. He asked the commissioners to oppose the bill. 12:00 PM-Lunch The Board of County Commissioners recessed at 12:15 PM returning at 1:00 PM. The request for the newl NAS will ITT Training is being researched to allow Todd to take additional courses as needed. There is an open platform with an annual membership that would allow him to take as many classes be large enough to accommodate video storage ifi needed. as he would like. He will research additional trainings similar to this. 1:30 PM- Collin Koop Grounds & Buildings The final quotes were presented from Eagle Carports for the buildings at the fairgrounds for the CSU Extension Ag equipment and for the rodeo secretary and concession. Cory Wall moved to authorize signing the Order Forms for a 30'x30' building to store the CSU Extension agriculture equipment Build #706542691176301- for a cost of $15,832.80 and for a 30'x30' insulated building for the rodeo secretary and concessions Build 1706342864710200-1 for a cost of $19,624.50, seconded by Stan Hitchcock. Heads and Accounts Payable Stan Hitchcock moved to approve the February 14th minutes for Board of County Commissioners with the Strategic Plan, Board of Human Services, and Liquor License Authority Board and toj pay the Accounts Payable in the amount of $97,541.06, seconded by Cory Wall. The motion passed by unanimous vote by Dave Hornung. 2.A Tough Enough to Wear Pink Enrollment Form : Administration 2. New Items The Tough Enough to Wear Pink application will allow the Kit Carson County Fair and Pro Rodeo to use their logo for advertising during the Thursday night rodeo. All proceeds will stay in the local Kit Carson County Cattle Women's Pink Chaps Fund that Cory Wall moved to authorize Tough Enough to Wear Pink events on Thursday night during the Pro Rodeo with $1 per ticket going to the Kit Carson County Cattle Women's Pink Chaps Fund, seconded by Stan Hitchcock. July 25-27, 2024, at $1,750.00 per performance for 3 performances for a total amount of $5,250.00 including a 30/50 amp hookup for his trailer, seconded by Cory Wall. The State Wildlife total acres - 368, total assessed value $3,764.19, total mill levy for taxing acres - 71.378, with total Wildlife amount requested of Cory Wall moved to authorize signing the tax year 2023 for Colorado Parks and Wildlife Assistance Grant, seconded by Stan Hitchcock.
