BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MINUTES JUNE 26, 2024 The Board of County Commissioners meeting began in work session at 8:00 AM. Those present were. Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Cory Wall, Susan Corliss, and' Theresa Korbelik. In-Person Schedule- - Commissioners Board Room 8:00 AM - Work Session Commissioner Meeting to convene with Pledge of Allegiance The Board of County Commissioners meeting was called to order and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited at 9:00 AM. Those present for the session were Cory Wall, Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, SheriffTravis Belden, Jennifer Gribble, Jessica Schart, Moira Hawks, Theresa Korbelik, and Susan Corliss. 9:00. See the Board of Human Services minutes. 10:00 AM - Abbey Mullis - Midwest Farms Abatement Thel Board ofCounty Commissioners. reviewed the request from Midwest Farms requesting abatement on real property that was discussed at the April 10th meeting. 11:00 AM-Jeff Cure - County Attorney The revision oft the Land Use Code to make the fee structure clearer, set ai time period limit between the conceptual application and preconstruction application for the permit, and various typing corrections was discussed. It was decided to proceed with the Land Use Code update, SO a public hearing will be scheduled and advertised for the July 16th Planning Commission meeting. Updates: nothing new on the longhorns and the Stratton Transfer Site title documents have been sent for signatures; these will then be recorded and the title will be checked for exemptions. 12:00 PM-Lunch The Board of County Commissioners recessed at 12:00 PM returning at 1:00 PM. Those present for the afternoon session were Cory Wall, Dave Hornung, Stan Hitchcock, Theresa 1:00 PM-] Liquor License Authority - Public Hearing Special Event- - Knights of Columbus Korbelik, and Susan Corliss. The carousel was inspected again as well, SO that next year all of the rides will be inspected at the same time. Rock has been put in the carnival area and arena RV parking. Everything is ready for the Royalty Contest and Back the Blue event on June 29th. There is an issue with the sprinkler system at the courthouse because the backflow has been cut at the hospital location. Courthouse HVAC Project invoices have arrived; the agreement was that payment will not be made until everything is complete. There are still problems with the units ont the 3rd floorand the Clerk'sOffice, the shunts have not been installed in the outside units, and a few other small items. 2:00 PM-7 Todd Holmes - Fair Discussion was held about the workers for the fair tickets and BBQ. A router is needed to manage the bandwidth on the Internet at the fairgrounds. Cameras in the pavilion need to be updated. BUSINESS MEETING: 3:16 PM 1. Review and Approve Consent Agenda Items 1.A Approve minutes for the June 19th - BOCC, DHS, & PH and Accounts Payable & Payroll Cory Wall moved to approve the June 19th minutes for Board of County Commissioners, Board of Human Services, and Board of Public Health meetings and to pay the Accounts Payable in the amount of $95,497.74 and Payroll in the amount of $417,216.74, seconded by Stan Hitchcock. The motion passed by unanimous vote by Dave Hornung. 2. New Items 2.A Midwest Farms LLC-] Petition for Tax Abatement- - Nursery #2-$10,131.44 Assessor Stan Hitchcock moved to approve signing the abatement form of taxes for Midwest Farms - Nursery #2 to reduce the assessment and taxes in the amount of $10,131.44, seconded by Cory Wall. The motion passed by unanimous vote by Dave Hornung. 3. Monthly Reports 3.A May Financials - Administration Cory Wall moved to confirm the May 2024 Admin Financials Report as presented, seconded by Stan Hitchcock. The motion passed by unanimous vote by Dave Hornung. 4. Purchase Orders 4.A PO#24-00533 - Complete Wireless Technologies - Radios - $5,518.73 - Sheriff This purchase has been voided. FYI: 20240626 Board of County Commissioners- Minutes Page 2 of3 Additions: Courthouse Tress Tyson Reents and CSU Extension Agent Linda Langelo reported that the trees have changed al lot since the spring review; they are showing signs oft the drought; additional watering may be needed. Samples were taken of all the trees and will be mapped in a report to be presented later. There is a tree grant that is due on July 31st that Theresa Korbelik has been working on. Jason Critchfield- Wagner CAT Grader Bids presented on next week's agenda. Road & Bridge Districts received bids to review for the 2025 road graders.
