Consideration and Acceptance of Community Marijuana Offset Impact Fund Grant Mary Helminski, Executive Assistant/Paralegal, stated the Community Marijuana Offset Impact Fund was created in 2018. It provided grant awards to eligible organizations that provide programs that allow positive alternatives to doing drugs and to graduating high school and current college students that attend high school in Pagosa Springs that are furthering their education. A total of 23 student applications and one non-profit organization application were received for the 2024 grant cycle. The selection committee reviewed and made their award selections. Commissioner Maez moved to agree with the recommended grant award recipients from the Community Marijuana Offset Impact Fund as presented. Commissioner Brown seconded the motion B. Consideration and Selection of Members of Marijuana Ordinance Update Citizen Task Mary Helminski, Executive Assistant/Paralegal, stated at their Regular Meeting on March 6, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners approved the creation of a Marijuana Ordinance Update Citizen Task Force and instructed staff to collect letters of interest for this group. A total of8 letters ofinterest were received. Consideration of Resolution 2024-31 Declaring Archuleta County as a Non-Sanctuary Derek Woodman, County Manager, stated this resolution declared that Archuleta County would be ai non-sanctuary county and would not open shelters or provide services to uninvited migrants Candace Jones, 758 Rainbow Dr,, she thought the resolutions provided were based on paranoia rather than facts. She thought reaching out to Denver toi inform them we are not equipped tol handle this situation rather than make ai resolution based on fear. She thought the fear ofhealth risks was Lee Stopher, 99 Periwinkle Dr., she did not believe this resolution was necessary and unenforceable. She did not think the goal was obtainable and thought the reality of bus loads of people to Archuleta County was not likely.
