Recreation Commission Meeting November 12, 2019 President Sonia Brum called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Commissioners present: Commissioners absent: Also present: Patric. Jones, Willie Parker, Monique Lopez, Henrietta Martin, Roy Alatorre, and Sonia Brum Joe Alvarez Recreation Coordinator, Yvonne Hernandez and Public Works Director, Dario Dominguez PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Jones made a motion to approve the Minutes from the October 8, 2019, meeting seconded by Commissioner Parker. The motion carried unanimously. OLD BUSINESS: The attendance went up from last year on the Trunk or Treat event held on October 30, 2019. A discussion was held of possibly rerouting the Trunk or Treat line to 4th and Merced Street and the food trucks to 3rd Street. There were approximately fifty trunks giving out candy. There were only two Recreation Commissioners present. In the future, more help with this event is needed from Commissioners. The next Trunk or Treat event is scheduled tol bel held on October 28,2020. NEW: BUSINESS: The Christmas Tree Lighting event willl be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Santa Claus will be at the iDance Company Studio from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. The Grand Marshall will light the tree along with the five children that held a lemonade stand to raise money for the community of Fowler. The Christmas The Children's Shopping Day event will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Commissioners will meet at the Senior Center at 10:00 a.m. The 4H volunteers will assist shoppers as needed and with President, Sonia Brum announced her resignation. She said her resignation would be effective as of tree is scheduled to bel lit at approximately 5:15 p.m. wrapping of gifts purchased. January 2020. Att the.
