Minutes of the Fowler Recreation Commission Meeting  May 11,2021  Chair. Jones called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.  Commissioners Present: Commissioners Absent: City Staff Present:  Patric Jones, Henrietta Martin, Roy Alatorre, Willie Parker, Monique Lopez, Stephanie Mejia, and. Joe Alvarez  None  Recreation Department Coordinator, Yvonne Hernandez, Community Development Director, Thomas Gaffery  City Council Liaison Present: PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS  City Councilmember, Juan Mejia  None  APPROVAL OF MINUTES  Commissioner Lopez made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 24, 2021,meeting, Commissioner Parker made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 13, 2021 meeting,  seconded by Commissioner Parker. The motion carried unanimously. seconded by Commissioner Alvarez. The motion carried unanimously.  OLD BUSINESS None  UNFINISHED BUSINESS  The discussion of adding two more commissioners was not finalized.  NEW BUSINESS  Fabulous 4th of July - Commissioners discussed the plan for two fireworks sites to allow for viewing anywhere in the city. Commissioners also discussed radio station advertising and reviewed the event flyer. Commissioner Parker made a motion to approve the cost of decorations, it was seconded by Commissioner Alvarez. The motion carried unanimously. Spring Fest - September 18, 2021 was set for an event in lieu of Spring Fest.    ADJOURNMENT  Commissioner Parker motioned to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Alvarez.
