They explained that the changes they are proposing would provide more review of structures, not only in the Historic Commercial Core (HCC), but also in the Old Town Residential Zone District (OTR). The CHPC's goal is to be a beneficial resource and partner with local property owners to enhance the value of preserving historic buildings in Carbondale. However, the Board believes that the Municipal Code and Unified Development Code design guideline amendments should be part of the Comprehensive Plan update process.
