RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Minutes of the City Council of the City of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado Held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. City Hall, 2450 East Quincy Avenue, Cherry Hills Village, Colorado 80113 CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL Mayor Brown called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Katy Brown, Mayor Pro Tem Randy Weil, Councilors Earl Hoellen, Dan Sheldon, and Robert Eber were present on roll call. Also present were Interim City Manager Jim Thorsen, Deputy City Manager/Public Works Director. Jay Goldie, City Attorney Kathie Guckenberger, Community Development Director Paul Workman, Finance Director Doug Farmen, Police Commander Brennan Leininger, Human Resources Manager Kathryn Ducharme, and City Clerk Laura Gillespie. Absent: Councilors Al Blum and Susan Maguire The Council conducted the pledge of allegiance. NEW BUSINESS None REPORTS Mayor's Report Mayor Brown reported most of the state legislation bills the City was concerned about and opposed to had passed or were expected to pass; there had been many amendments; while the bills were still gross intrusions to Home Rule authority they probably would not have al large impact tot the City; thel bill that would have required Mayor Brown noted all Council members had received a request from a resident to pass ap proclamation designating May as ALS awareness month and asked staff to include it online testimony at public meetings died in committee. on the next Council agenda. Members of City Council Councilor Eber reported on the Centennial Airport Community Noise Roundtable (CACNR) meeting; they offered a portable noise unit and he suggested placing iti in two or three places around the City; the CACNR planned to charge membership fees again Councilor Hoellen commended Director Farmen on the audit RFP process. in2025. City Staff purchasing policy. Director Farmen reported staff continued to work on draft updates to the City's Clerk Gillespie noted the appointment resolutions to PTRC and CHVAC would be on the next Council agenda; she commented ont the CHVAC arti in the park event and the Director Workman congratulated Mayor Brown on her work on the City's behalf during Deputy City Manager/Director Goldie reported the Spring Clean Up event would be Saturday May 18th; staff offered drop off of electronics during the week before the event Commander Leininger reported ont the Citizen's Academy, the Drug Take Back event, PTRC scavenger hunt event. the state legislative session. for religious reasons. and K-9 Tuco's training progress.
