He supports vacation rentals. He read int the Land Use Code that vacation rentals allow two persons per bedroom, plus two more. He believes the "two more" language is too many. Wants contact information for the owners on vacation rentals available to the public, sO the public is ablei to report any issues directly to the owner. He understands that he could call 911, but that is not the only option. Wants to know how Commissioner Nelson asked for clarification on1 the two-person code and asked about contact information for the Commissioner Evans - Asked if this was the applicant's primary residence. This home is the primary residence. Community Development Director Killian clarified that Town Hall would not have a list of the owners available, however any resident could do a CORA request for the documents for the rental and then the contact information would be provided. All disturbançes should route through 911 or to Town Hall for non-emergencies. Therei isalso a24/7 non-emergency dispatch line that could have a Bayfield Police Department Officer dispatched. Each vacation rental is required to get al license and go through this use by review process. Ifthe property changes owners, the new owner has to do the: same process over again. Ifthere are many complaints, we would note that and then we would bring that back to the planning commission. The permits are revocable and each rental needs to have good standing. The state and federal government handle the monitoring ofi income/taxes, not the Town of Bayfield directly. Bayfield does not collect lodgers tax, that currently goes to Lal Plata County.
