June 13, 2017 The Dale County Commission convened in a regular session Tuesday, June 13, 2017. The following members were present: Mark Blankenship, Chairman; District One Commissioner Chris Carroll; District Two Commissioner Steve McKinnon; District Three Charles W. Gary; and District Chairman Blankenship called the meeting to order at 11:00 am on June13, 2017. Commissioner Wilson opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Carroll followed with prayer. Four Commissioner Frankie Wilson. APPROVED - MINUTES- - MAY 23, 2017 REGULAR SESSION Commissioner Gary made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 23, 2017 regular meeting. Commissioner Wilson seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED-L LETTER OF SUPPORT Commissioner Carroll made a motion to approve the annual letter of support to Community Corrections, requested by Director of Dale County Court Services Cheryl Leatherwood. Commissioner McKinnon seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED - TRAVEL REQUEST Commissioner McKinnon made motion to approve the following travel request: ACCA Convention - Orange Beach, Al Aug 22 -24, 2017 -$1080.00 each. APPROVED-P POTHOLE PATCHER Upon recommendation of County Engineer Derek Brewer, Commissioner Wilson made a motion to award the Batwing Rotary Mower bid for the Road & Bridge Department. Commissioner Gary Commissioner Wilson made a motion to approve Road & Bridge to purchase a Pothole Patcher ($53,627.00). Commissioner Gary seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried June 13, 2017 APPROVED- - WORKI REQUEST Commissioner Gary made a motion to approve the work request by Mayor Pruitt for the Town of Newton: Stanford Hills Subdivision Rd. and Union Church Rd. Routine blading when in the area. APPROVED - INSOLVENTS. ERRORS AND TAXES MITSAIONS-FIIRIRAN Revenue Commissioner Eleanor Outlaw presented a list of Insolvents, Errors and Taxes in Litigations for FY 2016 and requested the list be approved and signed. Commissioner Wilson made a motion to approve. Commissioner Gary seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion Commissioner Carroll made a motion to approve the memorandum of warrants. (Payroll check numbers 154386-154390, Payroll direct deposit numbers 23960-24100, and Accounts Payable check numbers 76396-76588). Commissioner McKinnon seconded the motion. All voted aye. APPROVED - AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN TOAPPLY FOR GRANT'S Commissioner Wilson made a motion to approve Chairman Blankenship to apply fora a Community Development grant for $10,000 and a RC&D grant for $2000.00 to replace roof on the Clopton community house. Commissioner Carroll seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED - PROPOSED BUDGET CHANGES Upon request of the County Manager, Commissioner McKinnon made a motion approve the proposed budget changes. Commissioner Carroll seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED - JULY3.2017, AONE-TIME HOLIDAY Commissioner Wilson made a motion to approve the one-time holiday of July 3rd a Monday to go along with the Tuesday July 4th 2017. Commissioner Gary seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. ANNOUNCEMENT - NEXT REGULAR MEETING Chairman Blankenship announced that the next regular meeting of the Dale County Commission would be Tuesday June 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. ADJOURNMENT: CONFIRMATORY STATEMENT Commissioner Gary made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
