May 09, 2017 The Dale County Commission convened its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. The following members were present: Mark Blankenship, Chairman; District One Commissioner Chris Carroll; District Two Commissioner Steve McKinnon; District Three Commissioner Charles W. Gary and District Four Commissioner Frankie Wilson. Chairman Blankenship called the voting session to order at 11:00 a.m. Commissioner McKinnon opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Carroll followed with prayer. MINUTES - April 25.2017 Commissioner Gary made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 25, 2017 regular meeting. Commissioner Wilson seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED - TRAVEL ALGTI-F Prattville, Al. $603.95. Commissioner Carroll made a motion to approve the travel for Commissioner Wilson to attend Road & Bridge Dept.- Derek Brewer, Drew Meacham and Klaudia Brophy - CIMS user Probate Judges Summer Conference - June 11 -14, 2017 - Sharon Michalic and Keisha Johnson $ 2724.54. Commissioner McKinnon seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. Conference- June 22-23, 2017 - $625.00 each. APPROVED - VIVIAN B. ADAMS SCHOOL BOARD - REAPPOINTMENTS Commissioner Gary made a motion to approve the reappointments of - Dr. Robert Crosby, Mrs. Patricia Jackson, and Mrs. Bonnie Crawford. Commissioner Wilson seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED - WAIVER FOR BOB ANDREWS Commissioner McKinnon made a motion to approve a waiver for part-time Deputy Bob Andrews to work full-time on a temporary basis while other deputies are on military duty. Commissioner Carroli seconded the motion. All vote aye. Motion carried. APPROVED - MEMORANDUM OF WARRANTS Commissioner Wilson made a motion to approve the Memorandum of Warrants. (Payroll check 154377 - 154380, Payroll Direct deposit numbers 23540 - 23677, and Accounts Payable 76160 - 76242) Commissioner Gary seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. May 09, 2017 APPROVED- - ROAD & BRIDGE CONTRACT- POLYENGINEERING Commissioner McKinnon made a motion to authorize the Chairman and County Administrator to sign the Road & Bridge contract, for County Road 560 Bridge right of way acquisition. Commissioner Carroll seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED - DRAFTING LETTERSABOUTI WEATHER SIRENS Commissioner Gary made a motion instructing Attorney Henry Steagall to draft a letter to the municipalities in the County informing them of the County's intent to discontinue the weather sirens, and to offer to donate the existing sirens located within a municipality to that municipality. Commissioner Carroll seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED - EXTENDED ROADSIDE TRASH Commissioner Wilson made a motion to extend the roadside trash pick-up program with Wiregrass Renabilitation, Inc. for an additional 3-month period. Commissioner Gary seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED- SIGNING AN EASEMENT Commissioner McKinnon made a motion for Chairman Blankenship to sign an easement with Alabama Power to allow them to move two poles outside the County Government Building. Commissioner Carroll seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. APPROVED- RELOCATING VOTING HOUSES Commissioner McKinnon made a motion to allow. Attorney Henry Stegall to begin procedures necessary to relocate the voting houses in Ariton, Midland City, Skipperville, Bertha, and Ft. Rucker to buildings that are more accessible. Commissioner Carroll seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. DISCUSSION Commissioner Wilson expressed phone calls he has gotten about possible County County Administrator said that the audit for 2015 would start Monday May 18, 2017. Mrs. Bruce who lives at the intersection at Co Rd 20 and 30 asked for help with her property that joins the clay pit that belongs toi the County Road & Bridge. (Complaints of Recycling.
