EMERGENCY JANUARY 14,2024  CULLMAN COUNTY COMMISSION AGENDA MINUTES  CALLTOORDER  Chairman Clemons called the Meeting at 5:00 p.m. ROLL CALLTO ESTABLISH QUORUM  John Bullard, County Administrator, called roll; present were Chairman Jeff Clemons, Commissioner Kerry Watson, Commissioner Kelly Duke, Commissioner Corey Freeman, County Administrator John Bullard, County. Attorney Emily Johnston, County Engineer Philip Widner, and EMA Director Tim  Sartin. New Business  Commissioner Marchman was absent.  Chairman Clemons stated that he would stay in contact with EMA Director Tim Sartin. We will look at the weather as it comes in tomorrow: and decide if we will close the courthouse on Tuesday. EMA Director Tim Sartin stated that a winter weather warning has been issued for Cullman County. They are thinking that we are going to get more ice than snow, it could start tonight or tomorrow at about 1I a.m. Already in the state. we have freezing rain and sleet in Franklin County right now and it is moving this way. Once the temperature goeslunder the freezing mark tonight, it will not regain past the freezing mark until Thursday afternoon. It is going to be cold Tuesday and Thursday hovering in the single digits at night and twenties ini the daytime. Thursday will get past freezing during the day but will be below freezing at night. Also, we have another storm system coming in on Friday, it may be just rain, or it could Engineer Philip Widner stated we are as ready as we possibly can be. We have our graders at various locations throughout the county, 4 snowplows that wel have hooked up 2 on the east side and 2 on the west side, sand trucks loaded and ready to go, and 4 trucks outfitted with calcium chloride spreaders. We plan that as it starts snowing, we are going to try and keep the snow off the roads.
