BOOK027 PAGE 465 BARBOUR COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING May 1, 2017 5:00PM TIM MCDANIEL COMMISSION PRESIDENT, PHIL HART COMMISSIONER, SUSIE CVECHKO COMMISSIONER, BEN PROPST COORDINATOR, SHANA FREY ADMINISTRATOR Janet Spry, Bayli Helmick, Marija Ilic, Corey Brandon, Ron Skidmore Tim McDaniel called the meeting to order and led the pledge. On a motion by Phil Hart and seconded by Susie Cvechko, the meeting minutes from March 13, 2017 and March 27,2017 were approved. No exonerations were presented. Connie Kaufman presented 17 final estate settlements. On a motion by Tim McDaniel and second by Susie Two cancelled order requests from the Tax Clearing account were presented. Check # 7292, date of issue 8-16- 16, amount $341.30 and Check # 6739, date of issue 5-31-14, amount $3,536.49. Onar motion by Phil Hart and Janet Spry made a presentation on the LUCA program with the US Census Bureau. The Census determines several important figures such as the number of seats for Congress and the amount of grant funding an area receives. Once a decade, local jurisdictions can look over addresses filed with the US Census Bureau and make corrections. In. July, the official census packet will be issued and December 15 the final registration is due. In Acontribution request for the 2017 Race to 'Lil Moes was approved in the amount of $500.00 on a motion by Tammy Narog, Community Correction Director was absent due to a scheduling conflict. Tim McDaniel reviewed her monthly report. The program has saved $74,205 in regional jail fees. Total community service Cvechko, the final settlements were approved. seconded by Susie Cveckho, these cancelled orders were approved. the meantime, LUCA Liaisons will hold hands on workshops. Susie Cvechko and seconded by Phil Hart. hours in April was 2,240 hours. Dennis Burner was absent. The commissioners reported he was doing a great job. Corey Brandon provided an update on road signs. They are currently visiting every intersection within the county and taking a picture to store on their map. They are about 85% complete with this. He gave an update to Phil Hart's CAD system questions. Some address the CAD would not show who the responding agencies were. This was reported to be rectified and it happened due to computer update issues. A 5k race for a senior project was held on April 30 and the 911 center was notified of the event. Phil Hart received comments that dispatcher 116 was very professional and pleasant. Tim McDaniel reported the handrails at the Gazebo has been installed and look very nice. American Legion has expressed interest in upgrading the War display on the courthouse square. The Commission is ok with these upgrades. # 224433 BOOK 027 PAGE 466 The next regular meeting will be held on June 5, 2017 at 5:00. The Commission has noted being aware of recent incidents at the Moats Falls area. Sheriff Ferguson had a meeting with the WV State Police. They both plan to increase patrol in the area. The commission will also Phil Hart referenced and read the call summary report from April 30, 2017 for traffic control. According to the call notes, Deputy Casey arrived on scene within 22 minutes of an incident being reported. He was dispatched in reference to approximately 500 people on party rock, the roadway was blocked and people urinating in yards. Upon arrival Deputy Casey was able to drive the northern end of the grade and saw approximately less than 100 people on the rock and did not see anyone urinating in public. Deputy Hathaway stopped in front of Phil Hart also mentioned that the Commission has never denied overtime for patrol at the Adren Area. Phil stressed that he and Commissioner Cveckho's husband deals first hand with incidents at Moats Falls 'Party Rocl' and are well aware of the dangersand congestion. He is hoping that extra patrols, it will help alleviate Ben Propst gave a report on the Boy Scout event in July. He and the Scouting representative toured Alderson Broaddus University and the Fairgrounds. Projects are determined. ABU is requesting the commission to Ron Skidmore provided an update on Nixle. They have been bought by Evergreen. Ron reported that in order to get landline capability, the 360 package must be purchased with a cost of $5,800.00. The setup fee will be waived. LEPC will contribute $1,500. The EMPG grant can reimburse half the cost.
