Connie Kaufman presented three (3) final settlements. These were approved as presented on a Bobbi Cox, representing Women's Aid in Crisis, read a proclamation to declare April as Sexual Assault Awareness month. She also requested to put up a display in the main courthouse lobby, Linda Watson, representing the Family Resource Network, read a proclamation to declare April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. She also requested to place a flag at the gazebo and pin Anette Santilli read the proclamation to declare April 2-8, 2018 as the National Public Health Week. Shana Frey presented al balanced 2018-19 Levy Estimate with General County Revenues totaling $3,842,417.00 and Coal Severance Revenues totaling $230,000.00. The Commission designated af $1,000.00 across the board raise that was allocated to each Elected Official's budget. Ona motion by Tim McDaniel and second by Phil Hart, the 2018-19 Levy Estimate was approved as Save the Tygart requested three loads of limestone at Beaver Creek. The Save the Tygart group is planning to attend the next Little Laurel Dam meeting to give insight on how they can help to keep the project moving along. They have also been working with the state at the Old Badger Mine site that is flowing in the Tygart River. The position is being advertised in the Elkins Intermountain, Clarksburg Exponent and Barbour Democrat with a deadline of March 30th.A Teter Creek Lake Neighborhood Watch submitted a request for funding to help with the Teter Creek Lake celebration. The total cost of the weight room is approximately $25,000. They have raised the majority of the cost and it will be a benefit to several sports as well as students.
