28@119 Barbour County Commission Meeting November 2, 2020 4:00 pm SUSIE CVECHKO COMMISSION PRESIDENT, TIM MCDANIEL COMMISSIONER, JAMIE CARPENTER COMMISSIONER, CONNIE KAUFMAN COUNTY CLERK, SHANAI FREY COUNTYA ADMINISTRATOR John Cutright, James Sandy, Kim Lewis, Brett Carpenter, Stephanie Gomez, Corey Brandon, Cory Susie Cvechko called the meeting to order at 4:15pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Due to COVID-19 circumstances, the commission meeting was also held via conference call. Onar motion by Tim McDaniel and seconded by Susie Cvechko, the October 16th meeting Cox, Wesley Gray, George Foreman, Randy Moore minutes were approved. Exonerations were presented. Ona a motion by Tim McDaniel and seconded by Susie Cvechko, eleven (11) final settlements RONALD LEWIS CLEAVENGER, THOMAS GREGORY COBERLY, LAFAYETTE MURPHY, KAREN SUE KENNEDY, IRA SIMPSON WILMOTH, BARBARA SUE PAUGH, JOE MACARTHUR DICKENSON, JUNIOR LEE ERVIN, MATTHEW BLISS MAYLE, AVANELLE LOUISE PREVATTE, RONALD LEE JONES Cory Cox provided a 911 report with 1,625 calls for service and continued assistance to OEM for Corey Brandon provided an OEM update and discussed new directives regarding COVID-19 testing. Healthcare locations within the county are collaborating to offer daily free testing. More information will be available ata a later date. The free testing event held on October 31 was managed by the WVI National Guard. There were 171 tests administered during this testing event. The Century No. 1 Sewer project was discussed. The Commissioners had a beneficial walkthrough in the community with the contractor and PSD and now have a better understanding of the project. The Commission has complete confidence that Glenn. Johnston will do a great job finishing up the project with lateral hookups. Quotes were requested for inspection services oft the lateral hook ups. Following discussion, Tim McDaniel made a motion to approve the quote from Thrasher Engineering to allow Sammy Moran to carry out the inspection requirements. He has been on the project from the beginning and knowledgeable with the were approved. COVID-19 activity. system and community. The last several years, door replacements have been included asa priority on the Court Security grant application, however they have not been funded. Options that provide better security will be reviewed and presented at a later date. John Cutright discussed. Aerial Photography and will be advertising for a request for quotes. The fly over will occur around February while leaves are off and without flood waters. Bids are due Ms. Gomez followed up on her employment discharge concerns. No update was available. The next regular meeting is scheduled for November 20, 2020 at 8:30am. November 17 and reviewed at the November 20th meeting.
