Ruston Seaman reported that Bright Futures will be working with the Barbour County Board of Education to conduct as survey of the students once COVID-19 restrictions allow. Tammy Narog provided a Community Corrections report for the month of December. Cory Cox provided a 911 report. December's call volume was 1,755. The total call volume for 2020 was 17,259. Training for the 911 phone system is scheduled to begin and the go-live date is still scheduled for. January 13th. Commissioner Cvechko requested that Corey Cox resends this memo to all first responder agencies in the county. Corey Brandon provided an OEM update. Barbour County has 122 active COVID-19 cases as of meeting time. Weekly calls with Emergency Response representatives are ongoing. Vaccine distribution was discussed. The Barbour County James Sandy provided a year end Animal Control report. He requested the consideration of a chip reader in order to identify animals that are chipped. He is to get prices and present the information at the next meeting. The! Spay and Neuter Grant is open and the application is being prepared. If awarded, the County Commission Fairgrounds will be an option for vaccine distribution when the time comes. program should begin around May.
